9/29 - Florida vs Philadelphia -- 7:05 PM

They're far from the position they hoped to be in for the final weekend, but the Marlins will certainly jump at the chance to spoil the Phillies' postseason plans.

With the Phillies closing in on the Wild Card spot, the Marlins have a chance beginning Friday night to make sure that Philadelphia is watching the playoffs on TV as well.

"To me, the important thing is we've got three games against the Phillies, and they've beat up on us all year," Marlins manager Joe Girardi said. "I think it's important for this team to win a series on it's way out. They pretty much knocked us out, so we'll try to affect their season."

Taking out the Phillies will be no easy task, though. The Fish have struggled against Philadelphia all season, having gone 5-10 so far against the Phils and have dropped five of their past seven against the club.

In particular, Ryan Howard has been dominant against the Marlins, 26-for-46 (.565) with nine home runs and 20 RBIs.

Taking the mound for the Marlins will be Brian Moehler, who has been a spot starter for the Marlins with Josh Johnson out for the rest of the year with a sore right forearm.

In his last start, also against the Phillies, Moehler allowed four runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings. He'll face off against Jamie Moyer, who has gone 4-2 in seven appearances since joining the Phillies from Seattle.

Pitching matchup

PHI: LHP Jamie Moyer (10-14, 4.36 ERA)

Moyer has gone at least six innings in all seven of his starts since joining the Phillies.

FLA: RHP Brian Moehler (7-10, 6.22 ERA)

Moehler is 0-2 in September with a 7.27 ERA.

Player to watch

Chase Utley needs just one more run scored to become the 21st Major Leaguer to have 200 hits, 30 home runs, 100 RBIs and 130 runs.
