Bell Traded to Arizona in 3 Team Deal
I received a text from my buddy yesterday saying something along the lines "you don't need to worry about bell blowing saves for the marlins next year, d'backs just picked him up......." my question wasn't about who came back, but how much money was going out ......... $13M of the $21M isn't bad - sucks that this move didn't work out and they had to cut bait, but that's what it is he may turn it around and be servicible, but doubt AZ will get $6.5M per year value out of the guy I find some aspects interesting about this ........ the first is he's a lot closer to SD, he has no expectations over the contract, no pressure on him to be anything other than just another guy, a division he's familiar with and he gets a clean slate - things went south pretty quickly and he was unable to help himself get it right however, he was very clear that he felt like he deserved a chance to close - AZ doesn't see this as his future, aside for an insurance role - he still has a large enough contract and AZ is fairly budget minded - ken kendrick can be pretty outspoken from the organizational standpoint (blasting both stephen drew and justin upton last year) and Gibby is fairly unconventional as a manager, so he may still have some difficulties fitting in if things go south or if he feels he's not getting his deserved opportunity I'm hoping he overachieves, Arizona decides to Rebuild because they are in the division cellar ad he gets shipped to Toronto midseason. Then in 2013 offseason he's traded to Atlanta, who then moves him at the all star break to Baltimore. Yeah; I want him not sure what's going to happen next and uncomfortable as can be. Kind of like his save opportunities here. He can see his family in 2014 offseason, when he decides to retire or hold firm for a no trade clause in his minor league deal.

Should Marlins look at A-Rod?
payroll is dropping by quite a bit, which means we have little to no chance of competeing in the NL East. Cause we had such an amazingly high payroll in 2003. And Oakland had a crazy insane level of players being paid horrifically huge sums of money this year. And so forth. We tried the payroll expanding, it didn't work, back to a small-market style team and maybe we'll do better, who knows. Spend where necessary, extend those who we need to keep, etc. I'm in the opinion that payroll was going to drop regardless of this last years outcome. Look at the money that was coming off the books already- Zambrano's 19 million Leo Nunez's 6 'Million Anibal Sanchez' 8 Million Chad Gaudin Greg Dobbs Austin Kearns Randy Choate's 1.5 million Not to mention Hanley's 15 Million after the midseason trade. That's alot of money coming off the books without Hanley included, with him included we can sign FA's and still have payroll go down.

Bell Traded to Arizona in 3 Team Deal
Payroll is going down next season guys and girls. There is no "put this money back into the team." If we scale our payroll back to 55 that would be one thing, but if it goes up to the 70-80 million that was expected with the new park then what the hell are you exactly complaining about? Oh you must be new around here, BroncoBob complains just to hear his own voice.

Should Marlins look at A-Rod?
I think there's enough proof as to why Loria wants him and why he'd want to play in his hometown. Besides the fact those were statements made before the season even started when we were considered a serious contender, it is widely known attendance is dropping next season. Because of that, payroll is dropping by quite a bit, which means we have little to no chance of competeing in the NL East. We don't have the trade material to go after him without seriously crippling this team for years to come. A-Rod recently said he dosen't want to leave NYC. He has the final say. According to media reports, any statements Loria made about aquiring A-Rod were made in jest during those two ST games at the new pond. BTW He was born in NYC, moved to the DR, and didn't move here til he was in the 5th grade. "Hometown" is a bit of a stretch, but I'll give that one to ya. I think there's plenty of proof Loria won't go hot and heavy over him AND why he won't come here. Show me the proof why he won't come here then. And yes, I ignored your entire post.

20th Anniversary patch
Yeah im pissed. It sucks. It'll take me a while to get over it. At least Heath Bell is gone. My sources say Heath Bell made the flags the way they are.

Wow, ESPN already has Heath in his new jersey. I must say, it looks good on him. Horrible photoshop job Photoshop? Try Paint. Has anyone actually read the jersey?

NHL cancels first two weeks of regular season
Eh, there isn't much to say. It was actually via email, but basically he told me to shut up and stop bothering him without actually using those words. Haha, that's too funny. Post it!

I've had first hand experience with Yormark. He's a douche. But he's good at his job, so for what that's worth, yeah. Fair enough. Where did you meet him? PM me if you want.

Kasey Carrier
He put up video game numbers tonight against Air Force. 39 carries 338 yards 3 TDs New Mexico didn't get the win, but at 4-4, considering the previous 3 years combined they only won 3 games, Bob Davie is doing a heck of a job. Further proving that Mike Locksley is the worst coach of all time. That's not video game numbers. That's not even remarkable. Video game numbers are 25-32, for 634 yards and 8 TD's.

20th Anniversary patch
Ive been to plenty of games. I get it's a new identity but theres a problem when the Goya ad is bigger than both our championship flags combined. They were actual flags at one point but with no wind they were changed. Besides, those flags are squatters. Let them pay for the right to be there and they can be as big as they want

Should Marlins look at A-Rod?
I would take Arod as a 3,4,or 5 hitter next year, 5 the year after, 6 the year after that and 7th after that if it means he might get his 3k hit and 700th and 756th HR in a Marlins uniform. His production is slipping, but if another team is paying for most of his contract I don't see why not.

I want to know realistically what people though we would get back for him. Arod and about 60 Million.- UM vs FSU
And some jackass just ran onto the field. Anyone got a clip? 1st quarter, right around the 6 minute mark. Saw it live. Ballsy guy did it in the middle of a play. Nice, that IS balls! Also Musberger called Stephen Morris- Phillip Morris on the INT in the 2nd. What a frickin fool.- UM vs FSU

f***ing Bettman. He is the singular reason why this collegiate hockey player doesn't really bother to follow the league anymore. I used to be heavily into it the year CAL-TB went to the finals. Since the lockout- I haven't even taken free tickets to a game on the glass. Using excuses like, parking is not worth or the gas spent isn't worth it. Yes, i've gone with teammates to sit in the Eastern Financial District (Upper deck with all you can eat and drink, beer included) but why put the effort into following it fully if the owners couldn't care less to keep the product on the ice. For what it's worth, I think last year was evidence that new ownership here in S. Florida does care about the product on the ice. But yeah, I know exactly what you're saying. I was referencing the owners as a whole, all 30 of them. The Panthers owners hired the right man in Tallon, and Yormark (While Sometimes Aloof) has been a nice enough guy through twitter and mail to the fans.- 2016: Obama's America
Has anyone seen this documentary? I usually do not post about politics because I don't have much of a background in the subject to post consistent, informed opinions; however, I just saw this documentary and I thought it was interesting to say the least. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it and has an opinion about it. No, haven't seen it. Saw it as a selection at Red Box and rented "That's My Boy" instead. I've grown old of politics, and political films wouldn't really tickle my fancy. Care to give us an explanation of the premise? If anyone has a Red Box by them, you can use one of these codes to rent it for free. BREAKROOM DVDONME DVDATWAG (Walgreens Only)- Bell Traded to Arizona in 3 Team Deal
He could be an armless midget for all I care. Getting rid of Bell and $13 million is a huge plus. And forget about A-Rod people. It's not gonna happen. Anyone else afraid that Armless Midget would walk more than Cabrera? We should have asked for the midget. - Bell Traded to Arizona in 3 Team Deal
