Does anyone hate Hanley as much as I do?
I see now that you are white. I misinterpreted your original post...I apologize. Go back and read it. It seems like a pretty easy mistake to make. With that being said, I still don't know what you were getting at. Hanley had a good night tonight, but he is still not performing at the expectatiin of his salary. While yes, I would like to see LoMo play better, the Marlins havent invested a boatload of money into him yet. Heath Bell has caught plenty of criticism while he has sucked.... Hanley is a dumb bitch; in any color you paint him. His arrogance is preventing him from being a professional. He doesn't work hard enough at his craft and it's starting to show that he can't adapt to pitchers in this league. He needs to develop a better eye at the plate and be content with walks. Until then, Hanley could roll out of bed and not get a hit. He's 3rd on the team in walks behind our lead off hitter and our number 8 hitter (a person who might naturally get some freebie walks just based on his spot in the lineup). He's also 4th among 3rd baseman in walks in the entire league. So, yeah. He's also batting in front a strike out machine and can easily be pitched around. He's swinging at ugly pitches and it's preventing him from getting his pitch, which is why he needs a better eye. Plate discipline and walks are two different things. So yeah... Hanleys a dumb SOB You said he needed to be more content with walking, so I addressed walks. I find this post mind-boggling because Stanton is our best hitter. Yes, he strikes out a lot, but aren't teams trying to avoid pitching to Stanton? I mean, I would. But let's say I'm wrong. They are pitching around Hanley to get to Stanton. That still hurts your argument because those teams are actually avoiding Hanley, meaning they feel he has the better shot of doing damage. If teams are walking you, they don't want to face you. Should he be better? Yes, absolutely. But to blame his drop-off on laziness, is well, rather lazy. I wont insult you since you seem to miss my point. Stanton has propensity to strike out, teams are giving Hanley crap pitches in an attempt to get around him. He's swinging at this crap pitches and hitting into Dp and pop ups instead of taking even MORE walks and making it difficult to attack Stanton because a good pitch to him to strike him out very easily could be hit out. He trying I make a milkshake out of lemons, when he should be using what he's given an deal with the hand his dealt. Until we get a .300 guy who walks more then he K's behind HanRam he won't ever be the same ol H2R

What's Hanley doing right now? You seem to know him well, questioning his work ethic. Are you at the ballpark already? If he's not working hard, I really want to be lazy like him. Must be nice to not work hard and still be a lifetime .303 hitter with an .878 .OPS. I'm guessing that took some hard work, though... He's can roll out of bed and hit .300, it's what he does even even his talent drops and his play depends on what he's learned. He's not a .300 hitter anymore, he'd just a hitter. People fear his reputation these days, not his production. You don't need to be a marlin to see he's become complacent. Conines, Ugglas, Gonzalez and Lowell's words are more then enough. Actually, just Conine's was enough.

Or participate on forums for that matter. True, but if you can't see an opinion for what it's worth them your just as ignorant as the next one.

Yes and no. You can buy a sweater and pay 60 to have them heat press the name:number on, but why would u do that to a sweater. Plus heat press isn't sewn so it can come off. Just get a jersey and wear a sweater under it

It's a shame Hanley isn't white; people would probably like him more. 2nd best hitter on the team. First year at 3B and looks just fine out there. Logan Morrison has been playing LF for years and still looks like a moron out there. Funny how Hanley rarely gets credit for working hard and not looking like an idiot at 3B. Great thread though. It is a shame that when things aren't going your way, you just blame your skin color. With people like you around, racism definitely won't go away. Tell us how you really feel.

Yasiel Puig Free Agent Thread
What the hell? Cespedes was a Stanton with average. Soler was a better cespedes. Puig is better then Soler. When the f*** do we get to see Babe Ruth reincarnated.

So in order to be consistent, Piazza should be comparing Hanley's 2012 offensive numbers to other shortstops since Hanley qualifies as one in fantasy baseball. Hanley fails at life. I will compare him to the Morgue at the local PD soon enough if he doesn't start hitting. He really should just kill himself. *This was said in jest, Hanley should NOT kill himself. He should however take pride in being one of the Best SS in the game but can't hit above 280 or with power.

Bautista has not started a single game at third base this year (has filled in only four innings), but somehow he's lumped in with the ML third basemen? :lol QUALIFYING http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball/flb/story?page=mlbdk2k12_3bpreview Never said where he qualified.

Why is that guy still grouping Chase Headley and Ian Stewart, and why doesn't he see that that is my only issue with what he said? Fangraphs WAR, last three years: Chase Headley: 10.6 David Wright: 10.2 And Jose Bautista is not a 3rd baseman, so it would be weird to compare Hanley to him. Bautista is a QUALIFYING 3B, and I also was speaking specifically of this year. If I was going to go back three years, I would have included A-Rod, Ryan Braun, and Mike Lowell. In retrospect, I should have included Miguel Cabrera in my original post, but I'm way to occupied by pictures of cats to think clearly. Except Ryan Braun hasn't been a third baseman in 5. :| Penis

TRADE DEADLINE THREAD - Sellers? Buyers?
Why do so many people want Carlos Lee so bad? His OPS has been well under .800 for the past 3 seasons [including this one]. He can't hit for power any more, which is bad considering he plays in a hitter's park half the time. In fact, looking at splits, all 4 of his homers have come in Houston. I only mentioned Lee in the event that the market for bats is bad and he becomes available cheaply as a rental... I'd rather find other options He's not worth a rental right now. He's not worth any prospects, any minor leagues, etc. He'd be a detriment to the team more than a benefit. Well hell, who else can we trade Gaby and Buck for I wish we could trade them for One Good Mike Piazza At Bat

We should have went after Youk for 1B. No, we shouldn't have. Why not? We need players who can get on base and can draw in a run. Youk has been proven to do just that while Gaby and Lomo both have not.

Hanley shouldn't be compared to Headley or Stewart though, he should be compared to Bautista, Wright, and other qualifying 3B then two random 3B. He's supposed to be a Star, and he's playing like a Cantu.

Chase Headley: 8.3 WAR over the last three seasons. Ian Stewart: 3.2 WAR in six seasons. Cool comp, bro. Hanley should have a better attitude overall Also, this is funny, because everyone on the team was praising him for calling a team meeting today. Good for you, I guarantee you they praise him in the press but very likely bad mouth him to themselves. Only Conine and even Lowell had the balls to say something, and I promise you they are more informed then you and I. What else would they do in the press? Rip him like Uggla, or Gonzalez? Hanley has a 0.7 WAR according to, so the truth is he is no better then Headly or Stewart right now. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/ramirha01.shtml But My comparison was more based on stats than WAR, you can also try the lesser know STFU stat, where you multiply the uselessness of the respondent to the amount of F's that will be given. The Marlins look like the most careless team in baseball.
Anybody else bugged by the fact that after someone like say LoMo strikes out or pops up with RISP and 2 outs in a late inning, rather than show emotion, he just mopes his way back to the dugout all casually and business as usual? I see this with other guys too aside from LoMo. It's like all our players are content with losing so long as they are still getting paid. It's super f***ing annoying. I remember back in the day when Alex Gonzalez would strike out, he'd be pissed, maybe smack his bat on the floor, scream at himself, SOMETHING. I mean, I get that you should maintain some sort of composure out there but sh*t, show that you have some damn life in you! Especially when we're playing as bad as we are right now. This team needs a damn fire under their ass. I can't stand watching them right now. I bought tickets a few weeks ago to see them play this Friday against Philly, and I'm driving 6 hours to go see the game. Now I'm starting to second guess my decision to make the drive since it's just a pain in the ass, if we just plan on f***ing losing 12-1. I'm trying to keep the faith, I really am. I've been with this team since 95', and haven't stopped being a fan since. But it's been long time since 03' to not have made the playoffs. After all these changes, I was really expecting a difference, but so far.....f***. Umm, I was at the game. He slammed his helmet down in disgust at 1B and almost had it hit him in the head.
