Posted June 21, 201212 yr This guy is the most overrated player the Marlins have. Good hitter with no one on, but with a man in scoring postion with two outs he either pops up or strikes out. If there is a man on first with one out, it's a double play. Please trade this guy and save some money.
June 21, 201212 yr Rest assured his Runners On/RISP numbers are quite off from where they normally are, so I'd have to disagree with what you're saying here. His underperformance is annoying though, yes.
June 21, 201212 yr Nope. We don't have a choice. 1. Look at the stat of Matt Dominguez in 2012. 2. CC or some infielder can over Hanley as a 3rd? It's nonsense. (Fish has had weak IF depth than OF.) 3. FA? who?
June 21, 201212 yr I can't stand the f***ing guy-- but I respect his talent and root for him because he's a Marlin. Once he's on another team, I'll dislike him as much as Miggy and Uggla. Both of those guys are cocksuckers as far as I'm concerned. One signed a Deal with the Braves which was the same as the Marlins offer, and Miggy was fat and told if he lost weight he'd get his contract. Then he lost weight after beign traded to DET,
June 21, 201212 yr I'm kinda on the fence with Hanley, but I hate this overall team more and where they stand at the moment. This is not a way to make a scene after rehashing the franchise. Reminds me of seeing a hot girl who makes her way to prom while everyone is in awe of her entrance, only to see her have diarrhea and crap all over herself. Maybe we can start winning soon?
June 21, 201212 yr The one thing that's so frustrating is that as soon as the Marlins trade him that's when you know he will start hitting. Ironically the best thing for Hanley would be to trade him, not the best thing for the Marlins. He just needs to grow up, a trade would mature him, unfortunately for us.
June 21, 201212 yr It's disappointing because of the earlier seasons of success he had, it's like everyone solidified in their minds that he was a superstar and then he considerably dropped off. I think down the road a trade might be a better case to pursue rather than letting him walk or offering him a new contract. He could be a lot better than he is now I just feel like he has regressed greatly, remember when he used to hit for average? Yea I don't either. He's a completely different player now. All that being said he at one time was good and it's who we have and you have to go with who you have, unfortunately just like Buck.
June 21, 201212 yr I'd love nothing more then to see the Marlins trade Hanley for David Wright and a prospect. Wright is a class act, and deserves better then the Mets have treated him. Heck, I'd even trade Hanley for the rest of the season of Wright.
June 21, 201212 yr I bet this kid hates the Heat (go kid! haha) and Lebron more then you hate Hanley. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjIfrQqABl0

June 21, 201212 yr Hanley's a pain. Always has been true, still is true. But he hasn't caused any problems in quite a while, so mentioning his attitude as a deterrent is wrong in evaluating Hanley right now. His numbers are extremely average right now. Still a decent third baseman offensively, but obviously not on par with what he's capable of, and not on par with what he's being paid. Really nothing you can do with Hanley other than let him work his issues out. I know it's been said way too often, but he'll work this stuff out eventually. This isn't like when people defended Hermida constantly. Hanley has a body of work to base himself off of. He's a proven superstar who has to deal with nagging shoulder problems now and then. Whatever you trade him for isn't going to be worth what Hanley Ramirez can contribute to the Marlins when he's playing like he should, so there's absolutely no use in trading him. Also, the trade talk about been around for a few years now among the fan base. The truth is the Marlins front office has no thoughts of trading Hanley under his current contract, and won't seriously listen to any offers unless it absolutely blows them away, which no team will do.
June 21, 201212 yr Rest assured his Runners On/RISP numbers are quite off from where they normally are, so I'd have to disagree with what you're saying here. His underperformance is annoying though, yes. For all his "talent" he never seems to be the clutch player or the leader he should be
June 21, 201212 yr He's probably not a .900+ OPS player anymore, but it's silly to demonize his "attitude" as the culprit for mediocre offensive production.
June 21, 201212 yr Author I love all these new users. :| This place has been insufferable over the last 2 weeks or so. Sorry for the negative tone, but misery loves company and I need to vent. I am a season ticket holder so I'm not just a blow hard but a true fan that's suffering along with all of you.
June 21, 201212 yr Rest assured his Runners On/RISP numbers are quite off from where they normally are, so I'd have to disagree with what you're saying here. His underperformance is annoying though, yes. Hes always been bad with RISP. Not just this year...

June 21, 201212 yr You guys aren't answering the OP's question. He wasn't asking if you also hate Hanley. He wants to know how much. Follow the rules!

His underperformance is annoying though, yes. Hes always been bad with RISP. Not just this year... Really? He's had one poor season batting like... .250 with RISP or runners on or something... other than that he's had multiple .300+ and .350+ seasons with runners on or RISP. Don't quote me on those exact numbers, but I guarantee you you are mistaken if you believe he's always been bad with RISP.
