  3. Ballpark In Arlington is badass. it has alot of different styles built into one.
  4. Parcells is better then Gruden, but don't try and tell me that he is way better then Gruden. he is way better. and we dont need Key to go down the field, we need him to run crosses and slants to get 5-10 yards and be a clutch reciever on 3rd down. he is not expected to be a savior simply another piece...
  5. He's good, but the marlins need that additional great bullpen arm and with a little luck you're back in the play offs. Sigh, you should of got Urbina! dont start that stuff up again :lol if he was affordable it would have happened...

  9. Odonez leaves Padres camp, shortstop job goes to Greene PEORIA, Ariz. - Rey Ordonez has left the San Diego Padres, handing the starting shortstop job to Khalil Greene. General manager Kevin Towers spoke to Ordonez's agent, Adam Katz, on Friday and said the 33-year-old Cuban player is not expected to return to the club because of issues related entirely to baseball. The Padres had granted Ordonez a temporary leave of absence Tuesday to fly to Florida to deal with family issues. ``What I more or less got from his agent is (that) this is the first time in his career that he had to battle for a job, and I think he looked at his competition and he thought (Greene) was playing very well,'' Towers said. ``He thought that his chances probably weren't real good, and he was probably right. He had a good spring for us, but I think he realized that Greene was our future shortstop and likely to make the team as a starter. Rather than continue to fight it out with him, he decided to take off.'' Both Ordonez and Katz were unavailable for comment Friday. Ordonez, a three-time Gold Glove winner with the New York Mets from 1997-99, signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Jan. 16. He spent last season with Tampa Bay. The team invited him to spring training to provide an experienced fallback in case Greene, the 13th overall pick in the 2002 draft, proved unprepared for everyday duty after getting his first taste of the big leagues last September. But Greene, 24, has exceeded the Padres' high expectations this spring by playing flawless defense and batting .345 after going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs Friday night in a 3-0 victory over Milwaukee. Never a strong hitter, Ordonez wasn't far off with a .304 spring average, and the Padres fully expected the duel for the starting job to go down to the wire _ until Friday. ``I was surprised that he decided not to come back,'' Padres manager Bruce Bochy said of Ordonez. ``It was a tight race and it was going to go deep into spring before we made that decision. He was playing very well. But it sounds like he didn't think his chances were real good.'' The Padres will determine in the next couple of days what to do with Ordonez. Towers said he made trade inquiries Friday afternoon with a few clubs who are on the hunt for middle infielders. If no deal can be reached, Ordonez will be released or placed on the restricted list. ``I would say the chances of him coming back are very, very slim,'' Towers said. In the game against the Brewers, six San Diego pitchers limited Milwaukee to four hits in nine shutout. Ismael Valdez (1-1) earned the win by pitching two innings, walking one and striking out three. Dennis Tankersley was even sharper in relief, tossing three perfect innings with three strikeouts. All the offense the Padres would need was supplied in the second inning, when Greene hit a double down the left-field line to score Ryan Klesko and Ramon Hernandez. Greene also accounted for the Padres' third run when he doubled and scored in the fourth. Chris Capuano (1-1) took the loss for Milwaukee. He allowed three runs on six hits in five innings. the youngster will be the Padres opening day SS...

  20. Chavez may not be traded to eight teams without consent PHOENIX - Eric Chavez selected eight teams he can't be traded to without permission as part of his $66 million, six-year extension with the Oakland Athletics. As part of the deal, the sides agreed the third baseman's consent would be needed for trades to Cleveland, Florida, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Montreal, New York Mets, Tampa Bay and Toronto. Chavez will make $5.2 million this year under his previous contract. His new deal calls for a $3 million signing bonus, payable in $500,000 installments each Nov. 16 from 2004 through 2009. Chavez gets $8 million in 2005, $9 million each in 2006 and 2007, $11 million each in 2008 and 2009 and $12 million in 2010. Well, with good reason. The guy can hit and pitch at a major league level. Just needs to get himself together. you sure about that?
