  1. I wonder if Redmond is kicking himself for not ignoring Loria just as Ozzie did? He's in a bad situation and I wouldn't blame him if he had refused to go along with Loria. There's no reason to think Loria won't do this again to Redmond in the future. It will be interesting to see how Redmond handles it a second time.
  2. ...upset over tits and foul language. In front of kids...yes.Their parents say it in front of them, too, I'm sure. And who's more influential to a 6 year old, a baseball player or their parents? Parents should be more influential without a doubt. And, and I agree, many parents swear in front of their kids. But many parents do not. All I'm saying is there is a time and place for everything and this was not the time nor the place.
  3. Day game, kids in the crowd, kids watching on TV, national audience watching on news stations. Did anyone f-bomb while being interviewed or during a speech on national TV after 9/11? No. Why is there an excuse to do it now? 100% agree. Not the right place, not the right time. It's not about censorship or being able to say what you want when you want...it's about common courtesy and decency towards others. By the way (I'm just curious), did Ortiz have any regrets about cursing in front of kids?
  4. According to the stat-sheets, he had tons of chances! :| "You can cut the numbers however you want, but when you get a chance to meet with him and talk with him, it's pretty apparent he takes a lot of pride in what he does and he's going to get it done. It's not a concern with us at all." -Admin Beinfest Heath Bell is "...the closer in the National League, the guy who has done it..." -Admin Beinfest http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2011-12-05/sports/fl-miami-marlins-heath-bell-1206-20111205_1_baseball-operations-Admin-beinfest-marlins-officials-leo-nunez BRING BACK HEATH!! BRING BACK HEATH!! (who should we trade for him?)
  5. This is bulls**t!! We never gave Heath a chance. We need to make another trade and get Heath back NOW!!! BRING BACK HEATH!! BRING BACK HEATH!!! (come on everyone...join me...)
  6. MarlinMike? ... Who are you? Change your name to MarlinDude, I'm the only Mike here. Look how many posts I've contributed to this forum compared to you. I deserve...er, uh...nevermind.
  7. When do we hit rock bottom? Where you are now, you don't even know what the bottom will be like. But remember: It is only after disaster that we can be resurrected. It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything. I like these answers. But the correct answer is Wednesday, September 7th.
  8. Bourbon Street Tweets! Wooohooo! :cheers
  9. Nah...but he is having a hell of a run right now. GO BONI!
  10. Right after Edwin left he said this... "The physical talent is there but asking those young players to be the guys, to step up for [injured pitcher Josh Johnson], to step up for [injured shortstop Hanley Ramirez] with their years in the big leagues, I think that they felt the pressure and then we start losing and it was a snowball," ..."I think it was that we were missing that veteran voice, veteran influence in the clubhouse that would take charge of that because as a coach and as a manager there's so much you can say or do." Cameron is not a threat to take over a spot in the outfield but should help the current outfielders play up to their abilities.

  13. Hanley will be fine once he chokes up on the bat. Don't want this to happen, he'll lose his power. Hanley will be fine once he stops choking up on the damn bat.

  15. Initially, it was reported De Aza had a sprained right ankle, then a sprained ankle and bone bruise now... http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/baseball/marlins/sfl-spmarlins22may22,0,6322914.story?coll=sfla-sports-marlins "De Aza appears to be dealing with a fractured ankle"
  16. Hey, all. Quick question?how long does a player stay on waivers before being sent to the Minors? I thought it was 3 days but now I believe I?m wrong as Linden had been designated for assignment on 5/10 and claimed off waivers today. Thanks. Never mind...I found it... "A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the 40-man roster. This gives the team time to decide what to do with the player while freeing up a roster spot for another transaction, if needed. Once a player is designated for assignment, the team has ten days to do one of the following things: the player can be traded, the player can be released, or the player can be put on waivers and, provided they clear, outrighted to the minors. A player who is outrighted to the minors is removed from the 40-man roster but is still paid according to the terms of his guaranteed contract. A player can only be outrighted once in his career without his consent." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_tran..._for_assignment Thanks anyway.
