Ozzie Guillen's first ejection
What was the play he was arguing? Did he have a valid argument? What was with Valentine waving goodbye to him? There was a man on third and 1 one out. Tiffee hit a dribbler down the first base line that would have scored the run and tied the game. The first base umpire ruled it foul when it was the home plate umpire's call to make. Bobby was interviewed right after the ejection and he said he was waving bye because he didn't get to talk to Ozzie before the game, so it was a friendly gesture, according to him. Ozzie's response: Guillen said he didn’t see Valentine’s dismissive wave, but added “I would have told him to go (expletive himself), too. That’s the way Ozzie Guillen is.

New Texas Voter ID law blocked, Florida COULD be next
Two things I want to know. How did that Voting Rights Act get passed and why hasn't it been struck down yet? Well, that's not a sentence you hear everyday.

Parking at the new Ballpark
I pulled up at 6:45 on the day of the UM game and had no problems. I just parked in one of the Outfield garages. Pulled in, found a spot and took off. Took me all of 3 minutes to get into the garage and into a spot. (BTW, that 3rd person in the 2 person job was head counting for some reason and making sure the tickets were real) The only issue I had was it seemed getting off the 836 the traffic on that two lane or 3 lane road is going to get really nasty. I'll look for alternatives. I'd love it if a Metro Mover was made to connect the Civic Center to the ballpark. That would be perfect for ALOT of us fans who are traveling. Coming from homestead, I'd park at Dadeland and go to the game if a Metro Mover were available. They are doing trolleys from the Civic Center to the ballpark. That's probably what I'm doing for opening day.

Parking at the new Ballpark
It's probably because I go there so late (6:50), but getting into the parking garage (which I prepaid for) was a mess. It took forever and the police were not making it easier. There was obvious confusion of exactly which way the traffic should be flowing and the only sign said to turn on 3rd street for prepaid parking, which the police had blocked off. We finally got to the garage at about 7:25 and it was only about 3/5ths of the way full. Getting out, on the other had, was really quick. A buddy of mine (who goes by Overhed on here) told me ther got there at 5:30 and parking was "smooth sailing". As has been said by many, I'm hoping it's just growing pains. We somehow managed to find a way to accommodate 80,000 people on that site for over half a century.

Parking at the new Ballpark
I have a real issue with parking. It costs $20 on a regular season gameday. That one is a Marlins issue, not much MPA can do about that. Marlins collect all the revenue from parking. MPA just manages the parking. So if there is a logistics problem, that is more along the lines of where they might be able to help. That's not entirely true. While the Marlins do set the price, the reason it is so high is because the Marlins are paying the city $10 per parking spot, even if the spot isn't sold.

Exhibition games vs UM and FIU
While everyone else is busy offering their constructive critisism of the park... I'll be positive. Anyone notice what a WORLD of difference there is in legroom? Holy crap, I felt like I was in my living room watching the game, and I'm not a small guy at 6'1, 230. Very, very comfortable. Dolphins stadium is worse than an airplane... lol Dolphin Stadium was never really a problem for me. I didn't notice any difference here. I'm 6'0, 175 lb. I'm about your same size and I noticed the difference as soon as I sat down during FanFest. JRS sucked as far as leg room was concerned; Marlins Park is fantastic. Maybe we just sit differently, I don't know.

Tours coming down south
Childish Gambino's Camp Tour is coming down to The Fillmore on June 13th. I saw him there doing comedy this past Saturday and bought my tickets the same day.

I, for one, appreciate Marlins' volumes of images/videos posts. Thanks. Glad you like them. Me too. What you were saying was a joke but it's half true. That said, I wish you didn't have the most unoriginal name on the forums.

Where was Lomo today?
Just a day off, I guess. Hanley also had the day off.

Will DH come to NL?
I would agree with this change of mlb rule 1. Pitchers would no longer run the risk of getting hurt, either in the batters box or running the bases. 2. Pitchers should stay Pitchers. 3. In a clutch situation it is more advisable for a proper hitter to come to bat, not a pitcher who rarely trains as a batter, the pitcher should focus more on pitching , not hitting, this would take abit of the pressure off the pitcher. I feel that same way, but about sh*tty hitters. We should be able to get someone like Jim Thome to hit instead of having to watch John Buck or Omar Infante go up there and swing a bat. Fielders should stay fielders.

HR sculpture to be removed?
Now I could really see why they might get rid of it...Wow it looks so colorful in this pic: That's because that photo is ridiculously overexposed. Even the grass is neon-green.

They should've painted it dark blue, so that it blended with the seats. Unless the black is just a primer... Or the whole outfield a darker green. Yeah, I don't know why they didn't do that.

HR sculpture to be removed?
It was supposed to rise out of the ground, as seen in this. Maybe in the mind of whoever did the video, but that video doesn't mean there was ever any serious plan to have it rise and retract. Beyond the 50+' deep hole needed, it would defeat the entire "public art" purpose. Something that's visible to the public for 30 seconds or a minute once or twice per game on average obviously doesn't qualify. Even 150 HRs per 81 games at a minute a pop means the public could view the "art" for 2.5 hours per year. "Whoever did that video" was the Marlins. They released that for public consumption to the Herald.

IIRC, the thing was 3 million of the 4 million (or 4 of 5, I forget which) total of "public art" around the stadium. It ain't going anywhere out-of-sight since it's required "public art." It won't be covered for the same reason. I don't ever recall there being any plan for it to "pop-up," that's impossible -- it's 73 feet tall and they've known from day one that it was going to be huge. If it's a problem for lefties, it's certainly not going to be easy to move further towards left field as it's in its own concrete oval. Moving it would be a major and expensive project. It was supposed to rise out of the ground, as seen in this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h2MmD-mKH4

Belen-Columbus Game Streaming Live
I'm not as much by bitching about the announcers as I am about the situation., I thought they did fine actually. WAT? I have to agree. These aren't big league announcers, sure, but they were pretty decent for amateur announcers. Better than a lot of college guys. Especially better than some guy who used to do FIU sports who was terrible. I think he threw in a boomshakalaka once.

Any body else kinda perturbed that they are pimping home run as the first in Marlins Park history. Are they wrong? Technically no, but i would have like us to have the first game in the park. Minor thing. And that's the announcer's fault?

Belen-Columbus Game Streaming Live
Lotsa empty seats... *ducks* who would want to see these two teams play anyway? Im only watching it to see the Stadium. A ton of people; it's the first baseball game in Marlins Park. Belen sold out their tickets in 30 minutes; Columbus in like an hour. And that's that they weren't letting just anyone buy them. And they sold 8700+ tickets.

HR sculpture to be removed?
According to the commentators in the highschool game something is gonna have to get done in the future-though they said that the lefty's on the teams said it didn't bother them during batting practice. Yeah, I heard that too. We haven't gotten any players saying it's a problem yet, have we? I've seen Dobbs and Buck say that it "might" be a problem. Correct. No players have said yet that it is definitely a problem for them. There is however a lot of implication that it is expected to be a problem. Maybe I'm just reading too closely but from the Dobbs quote it seems to me like he has a problem with it but just doesn't wanna start problems... I read it more as "I think it's going to be a problem and if it is, you're going to hear me say so." Nah. Here's the quote again: "I won't be the only left-handed hitter saying something. If other teams have a problem with it, they're definitely going to voice their concern to the league." If he was really intends on complaining about it so strongly then I just don't think he would say that other people are going to complain about it also. It just sounds to me like he's afraid of complaining about it now then finding that other lefty's don't have a problem with it. But anyway, let's stop trying to analyze player's thoughts through examining their words... See, the "I won't be the only left-handed hitter saying something" is what makes me thing what I think. But yeah.

HR sculpture to be removed?
Pictures have never really made much of a difference in other circumstances for me. I would guess that some people (not necessarily you) get caught in the moment. They love everything about the rest of the park and lower their standards with regard to the sculpture. The photos probably don't perfectly replicate the colors, but I see what the design entails and I know it's something I dislike. It's not about the design or the color (though most of the pictures I've seen on here are ridiculously overexposed), the thing just looks less intrusive in person when you're sitting hundreds of feet from it.
