And we got the win Regardless of the superstion, how do you wear your baseball socks (if you didnt play, just say how you like the look best) Funny story, Hanley was warming up throwing with Uggla and Pressely walked by to go talk to the umps and Hanley pulled Pres' socks up... HE HAD STIRRUPS ON!!! lol

Why Carroll?
Carroll is certainly a candidate for a backup OF job next year, so it makes sense the Marlins wanted to look at him for this last month. The only question in my mind is if he'd be healthy to be fully evaluated....I guess he is. I was told that he rehabbed in Jupiter Friday night and made 2 outstanding plays defensively, but his bat struggled.

Rays have six consecutive games with sub-20k attendance
That six-game "streak" was all weekdays, and affected by school AND Tropical Storm Fay. And even then, we were still 50% higher than the same weekdays last year. During August and September in 2003, the Marlins only got over 13,000 against a non-division opponent on Saturday. Also, today vs. the Orioles: 34,805. The '03 Marlins exceeded that three times all season. And the 03 Marlins won the world series... go back to your playoff less cave rays fan... go hang out with all the Cubs fans... while us Marlin fans talk about the famous play at the plate in 03, or... as it is in somebody's username.... Renteria up the middle.... hell...we could get a bunch of Marlins, Rays, and Cubs fans and talk about Bartman...... I mean... sh*t... GO BACK TO YOUR f***ING DOME :whistle oh and so what if we have "less fans" than other teams... its just makes more upset people when we win the world series.. feels pretty exclusive.. and I wanted to re-post this.

Rays have six consecutive games with sub-20k attendance
Really? They had over 34,000 last night? So who was there this time, LL Cool J, or MC hammer? Most people know the Rays only get a major crowd when there is a big name artist for the post game concert. Oh wait, I forgot, when the Red Sox or the Yankees come into town there is always a good crowd. I guess that really doesn't count though, since more than half of the crowd is cheering for the opposing team. Did you ever think that might be a reason why you have better attendance? It should help, considering the Yankees and the Red Sox come to Tropicana field a combined 18 times per season. I also remember the Cubs coming to Tampa during interleague play. Once the Marlins get a new stadium, their attendance numbers will soar. I don't see that happening for the Rays though. Nobody. It was the Orioles. On a Saturday afternoon. And we had 32,000 yesterday too. For the same Orioles. And they cheered when the final score of the Red Sox loss was shown, too. The times, they are a-changin'. And like I said, Marlins fans have no business making fun of the Rays' attendance. :mischief UPPER DECK PHOTO FROM A GAME THERE WAS A RAIN DELAY AT EH?

MLB 08: The Show
And, let the position choose you... honestly I know it sounds weird but I started out in the IF, playing 3rd... I wasn't bad, but it wasn't natural... moved to Left, felt much better, then... moved to Right and I didn't have to think, it just came natural.. ... until... one game there was a ball lined to RF it was the last inning, we were up by 1, they had the tying run on 2nd with 2 outs, ball gets lined out to right, i get it on the hop gun it into 1st (The kid hitting wasn't a speedster, but had ok speed) the ball beats the kid to the bag, but our 1Bman didnt touch the bag... ... I didnt see a game of OF for the rest of that year... why? I got moved to being a pitcher because they saw I could throw... .... needless to say, it was totally different and it took me quite a while to adjust.... ... but like I said let the position choose you

Why Carroll?
He cant hit but he is a damn good outfielder and has a good arm, if he gets his hitting up (MUCH LIKE ANDINO) then he will be a quality player.

McPherson, Andino, De La Cruz called up
MIGHT JUST HAVE TO GO TO ALL OF THE GAMES UNTIL HE PLAYS!! Andino that is.... lol but no rally im glad to see Dallas up, im very very very very glad to see Andino join the team because I feel he is a major league player... De La Cruz.... De La if-he-sucks-im-goin-to-need-some Booze.

Andrew Miller
Hey guys, was at the game today, unaware of the recent call-up, and looked out to the pen and saw somebody warming up, couldn't put a name to it, too far away to tell... ...Starts coming out the mound, "Is that... Andrew Miller? IT IS!" Then he continues to strike out the side, in quite the impressive fashion might I add, finishing it off with Chipper Jones. What are your thoughts on this very small scale test to see how he has improved and what role will he play in the Marlins orginization?

Gregg shut down with infalmation of the knee
This needs to happen, you can't keep doing this to the other guys on the team, Gregg is one guy and that is all it takes to lose a game. The rest of the team put together the performance to win, and Gregg has been taking everything the other guys who played in the game did and throwing that right in the garbage. Demoralizing to a team... seriously..

MLB 08: The Show
lol I have noooo need for Edmonds... only OF I would go after would be Jay Bruce... I feel like my outfield is beastly with Vlad, Hunter, and Matthews/Anderson with Willits on the bench able to come in and be put in center because he has a ton of speed and then move Torii Hunter to left... usually do that and take out Matthews/Anderson when I do a double switch... can't play with my IF as much anymore.

2B Kendrick - plunked in head by Zambrano 1st AB of the year, 60 day DL SS - Aybar - torn cartilage in knee - 60 day DL I need some middle infielders. (Hanley is my starting SS, but sometimes I give him a break of just put him in as the DH, takes away a bit of my toying with the line-up now.) thats suxs cant og wrong with mez and dino lol but you can use figgons at ss or 2nd hes a utility player but some good choices are kelly johnson, mark derosa, dino, amezaga, augie ojeda or jed lowrie Yea I could put Figgins in both those positions, but Quinlan is my only other option at 3B, even though he is a 1B, he can move across the diamond, but I don't like putting him there. I just threw Eckstien on the team, its going to be solid, and his bat, while its not a power bat, will fit in with this team. He is starting 2B for me right now, havent really used him much but I traded two inactive players for him so it cost me basically nothing.

I got Vlad ripping homers, he hit 2 homers in 2 straight games. Not 1 homer a game, 2 for 2 games... ... now he did have 6 of the 8 RBIs for those games, but I scored 4 runs in each game, shutout the other team with a CG by Lackey, and then won 4-3 with K-Rod coming in the 8th pitching 2 scoreless innings after a decent 7 by Saunders... This game is so damn fun.... ... btw im doin this you guys should do this too... if you make a sick play in a game (on defense) record it after in the replay vault, put it on the comp, and we can all put together a "Top 5 personal Web gem" and then vote on the "Top 5 MB.com MLB THE SHOW 08 Web-in it like spider man, Gems." nope the quality blows for ps2 lol but your line up is perfect you got speedsters that get on base for Vlad then at the bottom for kotchman it reminds me of 2003 with jp louie and Pudge *sigh* the good old days to bad urbina's in jail we could proably use him to close better than gregg haha yea Im on a ps3 it works with it haha. And hey, Vlad has wheels too! I am in a game right now Hanley Aybar Guerrero Hunter Anderson Figgins Mathis Kotchman I can honestly say that I would try to steal with all but 2 guys in this line-up, Mathis (backup catcher, Russell Martin has decent speed), and Anderson because I don't like to steal in his spot, and he is a bit too slow for it against a decent catcher. I can switch the line-up around a lot too I mean.... Hanley can pretty much hit anywhere, Vlad, and same with Torii Hunter...

MLB 08: The Show
L.A. ANGELS OF ANAHEIM (My batting order isn't really 100% because Kendrick got hit in the head by Zambrano and is on the 60 day DL) Figgins - 3B Hanley - SS Vlad - RF Russell Martin - C Torri Hunter - CF G. Matthews Jr. - LF M. Izturis - 2B (Kendrick would be starting over Izturis, if he wasn;t hurt) Kotchman - 1B Bench: OF G. Anderson, IF E. Aybar, C J Mathis, IF R Quinlan, OF R Willits (basically another Torri Hunter) Lackey Escobar Weaver (Jered) Garland Saunders So far the rotation has been solid I want to try to grab Edinson Volquez and maybe move either Garland or Saunders to the pen, but idk yet. I really didn't change the Angels all that much because I liked the OF, like the rotation, went out and go Martin, Hanley... pretty much all I needed to do... Its a very fast lineup, lot of bunting and stolen bases, but yet still has the pop to rock some HR's out... Im diggin it... might not have the big time names you guys have, but I still have a very solid team. nice team. and like you said it doesn't have the big names but it's a fundamentally sound team with a little of everything. Thanks... Im only 8 games in the season but I havent lost yet and have had 3 come from behind wins in the 8/9th... Vlad is money, Torii Hunter has so much range in center and makes the craziest diving catches... Im enjoying it, its a fun low scoring pitchers dual most of the time
