Why Carroll?

Featured Replies

I don't understand why they would pass up other prospects for Carroll. He just hasn't played enough to be brought up, in my opinion.

In his 15 rehab starts he has gone 12 for 71 with a batting average of .169 and 2 HR with 9 RBIs.

Miller I was hoping for since he is 1-1 & has a 2.33 ERA in 6 games with 17 strikeouts as both starter and reliever in the minors.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm trashing this guy(I probably am), I do have a little faith in him he just dosen't seem to have it compared to his 18 pre-injury games:

28 for 67 with a .418 and 9 HR with 23 RBIs. I just don't think they should wasted a roster spot on him when we still have a playoff chance.

He was already on the 40 man roster which plays a hell of a lot more into it then people seem to realize.

You just can't call up whoever you want. Majority of players people want up aren't on the 40, and would require movement on our 40 man roster to call them up, a.k.a. we risk losing players.

He is a great defender and has decent speed. We didn't really "waste a spot" because you'll never see a team that actually has 40 people on the bench.

I understand that but don't you think Jai Miller(Whom I have always defended) has poven himself more than Carroll.

The ALB season ends today. We will extremely likely see Jai Miller later in the month.

It's day 1. They do callups throughout the month.

Hope He comes up

Yea basically we got carrol for his speed and great defense

other call ups until Carolina is finished would be

Andino Dallas, Gall Miller and 1 or 2 pitchers

maybe even Chase Lambin

YAY 4 Chase Lambin mention

He cant hit but he is a damn good outfielder and has a good arm, if he gets his hitting up (MUCH LIKE ANDINO) then he will be a quality player.

Carroll is certainly a candidate for a backup OF job next year, so it makes sense the Marlins wanted to look at him for this last month. The only question in my mind is if he'd be healthy to be fully evaluated....I guess he is.

I was told that he rehabbed in Jupiter Friday night and made 2 outstanding plays defensively, but his bat struggled.

Yeah, he hit just .169 in 71 at-bats in Jupiter.
