. . . Soooo . . . Hanley and 3B?
They second picture they tweeted was in front of some batting cages. So they are in fact working, lol. Yeah, just saw that. That's a good sign. I wonder if Hanley's asking Miggy for tips on how to be a good third baseman...oh wait...

**** 16oz bottled water. These dudes drink gallons. I know guys who do this. They walk around the gym with a gallon of water.

According to Frisaro: ozzie says hanley will be fine moving to another position, sees no problems Frisaro is one of the few reporters I trust when it comes to the Marlins. He may not always be "first," but that's because he's taking his time to make sure he gets his facts right.

Pujols to Angels
I can just see it now Pujols Hanley Reyes Stanton Lebron Wade Bosh all partying together down in South Beach laughing at the world while ric bucher and colin cowheard standing outside hating lol Did you hear Cowheard yesterday? He was ripping apart the Reyes signing. Who gives a sh!t what that tool thinks about anything? His opinions are worthless, like his career.

Pujols to Angels
Gaby + what would equal Matt Garza? Well, I'd love to use this opportunity to get rid of Volstad, but Theo certainly isn't dumb enough to accept Volstad as part of the package, so we can't dump him in Chicago.

Pujols to Angels
As for Gaby's future... PWSullivan Paul Sullivan If Pujols takes 10-year offer from Miami, look for Cubs to try and acquire 1B Gaby Sanchez, who fits their long term gameplan, 47 minutes ago Retweeted by joecapMARLINS Garza, anyone?

Heath Bell signs 3 year / $27M deal
Heath Bell told CBS Sports (got the link from mystikol in Pujols thread: http://scott-miller.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270335/33714540) "I'm telling you right now, we definitely can win the NL East, even with just Reyes." Imagine that. Even with just Reyes. As in, gee, even if we don't sign Pujols, we've got an embarrassment of riches. "I think we can win the division right now," Bell continued. "The Phillies, I think we can beat 'em. "Ryan Howard is hurt. They might not be getting Jimmy Rollins back." HAHAHA! Heath Bell has been a Marlin for less than a week and he's already making a Jimmy Rollins type declaration!

Pujols to Angels
I wonder how the Cards are playing their cards with Albert? Probably pulling at his heartstrings reminding him of all the memories, milestones, World Series...they are the ones in desperation mode here.

Winter Meetings
I like Cody Ross back with the marlins , he can play a decent centerfield , a little bit of power and he was a fan favorite ... He should go to Atlanta to buddy up with Uggla awww rekindle their little bromance

Pujols to Angels
So, anyone else feel sorta bad for Gaby? Yeah, I do. It's unfortunate for him because he's a proven All-Star and I know as a Miami product he wants to be a part of this new ballpark and new era. I appreciate his contributions to the team and wish him the best like all the other departed Fish (the good ones).

. . . Soooo . . . Hanley and 3B?
Now they're showing the booted ball incident. See, this is why I turned off MLBN three hours ago. Why can't they just let us be happy?!

. . . Soooo . . . Hanley and 3B?
MLBN is calling Hanley "disgruntled" right now. Did squall's source tell them that?

Pujols to Angels
Admin Bowa brought up a good point - If the Marlins sign Pujols, pitchers will be more excited to want to come here, since they're thought will be "Oh, I can probably get 5 or 6 runs a game with this lineup and be more successful." So ... Pujols first. Then pitchers will be begging us to come here. Interesting logic. I can dig it as long as there's enough $,$$$,$$$ left over for elite pitchers after getting Pujols.

Mark Buehrle, Marlins agree to 4 year/$58 million contract
I'm down with CJ or Buehrle. If we get neither, I will be super pissed. What if we get neither, but get Gio? Will you be at least OK with that? I would not be AS pissed if we didn't get either of them because we landed Pujols.

Pujols to Angels
It would definitely be a helluva way for Theo to start his tenure in Chicago.

Pujols to Angels
Supposedly the Cardinals have met (or will meet) with Pujols agent tonight. He's also met with Theo Epstein today. Oooh, Pujols to the Cubs is much worse for Cards fans than LeBron to the Heat was for Cleveland!

. . . Soooo . . . Hanley and 3B?
Honestly, I think Loria and the Marlins FO spoiled Hanley early on. This came to me in wake of the booting the ball/badmouthing Fredi meltdown a few years ago. I thought back to Spring Training a few months after they gave him his big deal. There was a photo of Loria and Hanley sitting at a picnic table, and Loria had just given Hanley some giant piece of bling. Hanley was REALLY young at the time. Looking back at that, I feel like Loria & Co. have given Hanley preferential treatment to the point where, at least two years ago, he thought his sh*t didn't stink -- and it all culminated in that ball-booting fiasco. Basically I think Loria played a part in boosting Hanley's ego -- and not in a good way.

. . . Soooo . . . Hanley and 3B?
I read somewhere yesterday to think of this as a Jeter/A-Rod situation with Hanley and Reyes having a friendly competition on the left side of the infield with the difference being "Hanley and Reyes actually like each other." Difference here is Jeter was the incumbent shortstop and A-Rod had to convert to third base so the captain could stay put. In this case, the incumbent shortstop is being asked to (and reportedly agreed) to switch positions to accommodate an incoming player who will make more money. Only time will tell how this turns out.

Talk about covering all the bases in one post. Touch 'em all, mystikol!

Gio Gonzalez to Nationals
Out of interest, why would the A's trade Gio? He is 31-21 over the past 2 season with an ERA in the low 3's. Cuz the A's like to trade everything away if they can get an immediate good return... As for Pujols mentoring Hanley, I could totally see him giving Hanley an actual whipping if he gets out of line. Well when he was called out for ducking the media during the World Series, Pujols said his ONLY responsibilities were to "God and his family." No mention of his team or teammates. So he could give a rat's ass about mentoring Hanley.
