  1. Not a big deal. Just one run. a one run lead against a struggling offense that is facing oliver perez, sure its not a big deal We're not a struggling offense anymore. We've gone to being about average in the last 3 series. we scored two runs against morton, the only reason its average is because of games like the the first one against the braves where we scored 9 runs

  3. morton no hitter he did this his last start against us, i believe 5 innings of perfect ball, then we got a hit and i believe we won that game jake got oe of the two hits which was a three-ruin homer. cant count on homers that muchnemore with this team
  4. morton no hitter edit: i mean perfect game
  5. Whats up with Anibal today? He comes back from a 3-0 and throws about 6 good pitches then you ask whats up with him? Nothing's wrong with him. It was just a fantastic AB by Escobar. Well considering he was extremely lucky to get out of that jam, and that he threw 28 pitches in the first inning, I dont think he is pitching at his best. He could have gotten through it on 8 pitches if Chipper didn't own the Marlins year after year. Can't put that on Anibal. so he walked chipper 3 times?
  6. why does olsen have to always put the marlins in a hole quickly
  7. surprise surprise we are losing
  8. we stink. don't be shocked if you guys sweep the series. I'd be shocked if we win the series, yet alone sweep. anits not because the braves have played well against us this whole year, cause its a different team, but because our offense sucks. we struggled against one of their rookie pitchers, charlie morton, the last time we went against him until jake got a miracle homerun. otherthan that we didnt do crap against him. As for jair jurrgens, all i got to say is CHANGE UP. i hope we sweep but it will depend on if these fools make adjustments.
  9. I tend to think that people put far too much emphasis on game management skills of a manager, and far too little on the intangibles of a manager. If you believe that baseball is a mental game, then it's hard to discount the effect that a manager can have on his players. Sure, it's probably unrealistic for Fredi to snap every time a hitter strikes out with a runner on third and less than one, but is it so unrealistic to expect him to make it uncomfortable for players to come back into the dugout after some of the at-bats that we see day after day? You do that by pushing buttons every now and then...remember Jack McKeon? There are extremes, obviously. Do it too often and the buttons don't seem to work anymore, but don't do it enough and your team plays baseball like a little league squad. Maybe if our manager had a certain stature these guys would make a serious attempt at changing their ways. I would feel so much better if I saw guys actually trying to correct weaknesses. They are, in fact, youngsters that should be getting better. But I just don't see it. I see the same approach over and over with every hitter. And nothing is being done about it and nobody seems to be worried about it. There's just an 'aww, shucks" aura about this team that I think is a direct result of Fredi. Why hasn't anyone choked up? Every time I see Jacobs take one of his gargantuan swings on a 0-2 count I think that just makes Fredi look worse and worse. No respectable manager would let that happen up and down the lineup day after day. i agree with you. i think that the players have not changed their approach because they think they are gonna get out of their slump and hit homeruns like they used to. but the problem, like you said, is that the pitchers know that all they do is hit homeruns and they are pitching them accordingly and if the marlin dont adjust to the pitchers they will continue to struggle. However, it doesnt seem as if freddi or presley have enforced enough the fact that they MUST have a different approach because so far their on the field play shows that the marlin hitters are not attempting to change at all
  10. I have a question for all of you, does pitching win games or does offense win games? Right now the marlins are proving that high powered offenses win games. just saying. very very true. it does seem like offense wins games, not alot of games but just enough to keep you over .500
  11. It's ok. Fredi will just lay wee wee pads down in the clubhouse after the game for the puppies to walk on. He will pet them and tell them everything is going to be ok like he always does. Quite frankly, I would love Fredi to just lay into this team finally and give them a f***ing wake up call. i know right what the hell is he waiting for this "wait and see" attitude aint working, just freakin yell at them or somethin, i dont know but do somethin How do you know he doesn't yell at them, though? And how exactly does yelling make them perform better? What are they, 5? i want him to strangle them to death lol well not yelling at them doesnt work so maybe yelling at them or pull a guillen will. and yes i dont know if he has yelled at them but he freddi doesnt seem to have that type of character or personality like girardi did, who i remember pulling olsen by the shirt and confronting him after olsen had a bad game. and what do you know, after he did that olsen started to pitch better. but i agree with one of your posts, the offense is what definetly deserves the blame.
  12. I can only speak for myself when I say that ANY team I'm a big fan of, I always expect them to succeed and make the playoffs at the least. What's the fun in watching a team when you expect them to lose? And don't throw "let's be realistic" at me. What if I don't want to? sh*t man, I like to think of sports as an escape from reality. I'm expecting the miracles when I cheer on my team. f*** reality and expectations. There might be a 1 in 100 chance of the Marlins winning the World Series this year, but I'll always be the first one to ask, "Why can't we be that 1?" Some say it's not probable. But I say it's possible, and that is why I watch everyday. true true. sports is definetly an escape from reality for me and at the beginning of the season i thought this team could make it to the playoffs, maybe i was being overly optimistic or ignorant about that many things that were going against them but i always had faith that they would be a good team. eventhough i constantly criticize them i always continue to watch them and deep down inside still have faith that they can do it
  13. We dont deserve to go to the playoffs, but neither does arizona or LA. We still arent out of it and we still have to series against the mets. Thats where the team has to take advantage. we didnt take adavantage of a team that was 19 games under .500 going into the series, how can this team possible take advantage of the mets. its become clearer and clearer everyday that this is going to be season ending slump for the marlins bats

  15. oh and also i amtting tired of uggla so much. i have met him and he is a great person but come on.....if porter says stop....LISTEN i think he was scared of hurting his ankle again
  16. once again we are making a freakin rooki pitcher look good. when is this crappy hitting going to end
  17. wtf happened last night wats our lineup tonight hanley stole 2nd and got hit on the right thumb on the throw. I think it was the right hand. that suxs how long is he out but i was taking bout the game how did we lose we were winning don't you read any write-ups of the game? its called www.espn.com we don't want to relive what happened nah i didnt have time just got home from high school its sick nasty. so the game was that bad i only herd baker hit a homer to tie it up but not how we lost what high school are you going to
  18. if we dont rock this guy i am going to kill myself
  19. This is why Lindstrom is not our closer beacuse of that he cant handle the pressure god damn f*** this. That and for all intents and purposes he only has one pitch, and its a fastball that-while fast-is straight as an arrow. He actually has a pretty decent slider. If he had a good changeup he would be lights outs, Yeah, that slider is developing nicely. Too bad none of the catchers ever feel the need to call it. Even then, that's only the 2nd run he allows since the half. unfortunately for the marlins he allowed it in a critical game.
  20. Is this the final nail in the coffin, guys? I don't know how much more heartache I can take. i hope not but it sure feels like it. i dont know how the marlin players can take anymore of these heartbraking loses. you cant always say "lets forget about this one and play tomorrow" when you are saying it everyother day. if this team can bounce back from another loss like that this team is truly unbelievably tough Because at the end of the day, they get paid for it regardless if they lose or not. regardless if they get paid they still want to win
