Chad Cordero?
We also have Henry Owens returning, Ryan Tucker most likely becoming a full time reliever, Pinto being ready for the beginning of the season, Badenhop most likely being in the pen, Lindstrom closing, and we just got that reliever from KC, no need to spend unnessesary cash this is who we have in the pen lindstrom rhodes nelson pinto tucker cruz and tucker might not even be ready. henry owens is nothing special Rhodes is a free agent. When healthy, Henry Owens is fantastic. But his career might be close to being over so it may not matter. rhodes is coming back and henry owens was a jason vargas throw in. he pitched for 2 months and people think he is something special but he really isnt

its not unneccessary cash, a minor league to 1 million dollar deal for a former all star closer would not be wating cash

Chad Cordero?
No Let me elaborate, it has already been said that he is going to miss all of the 2009 season. We do not need to sign a guy to be on the DL no it hasnt. he is hoping to be back by st.

Jacobs Traded to Royals
first thing i think when i see nunez is juan cruz. if he could be juan cruz esque great trade. very similar in stature and repertoire (sp?) but to jake, thanks for the great 3 years and hopefully we can see you striking out for someone else. if im not mistaken i thought i saw k.c. coming to south florida next year? I was thinking the same thing. Juan Cruz. i think i remember nunez pitching for the royals against us and he had like a 1 era or something in june. pretty impressive and hes only 25

Raynor suffers broken hand
Am I the only one who think Sean West should be moved to a closer? He could be more filthy than Tucker based on what i've read. Along with this having nothing to do with Raynor, No he won't be our closer thats up to Tucker or Lindstrom. If West dosent fit in the starting role he could be a good MR or even SU man or even a lefty specialist. you do realize it talked about west in there to right?

Stanton might be coming up in 2010. Raynor, Maybin, Stanton is a god outfield. Sry, i don't consider at the earliest 2 years is soon With the way he has been playing, I think it could be 2010. Even if it is late 2010 or 2011, we won't need to trade for a young outfielder to have their producion for just 1 or 2 years. i never said young outfielder. i said corner outfielder. That's irrelevant. We dont need any more outfielders, young or veteran. with willingham or hermida likely gone, that leaves us with amezaga, hermida/hammer, ross, maybin. thats only 4

I really don't understand the hate on Gregg. Before the last couple games this year, where he actually had a knee injury, he was a very solid closer. I'm pretty sure he already had five or six blown saves before the all-star game. And how many games did he save for us.

IMO we should be trying to get a couple young MLB ready relievers for them along with outfielders. We probably don't need more outfielders, unless they're veterans who could make an immediate impact. We need a couplecorner outfielders. Not with the prospects the Marlins have coming up soon. besides raynor we dont have anyone who is a corner outfielder that is coming up anytime soon.

I want to trade Gregg to the Mets for nothing just for the sake of seeing him blow 10 games.

Penny back in Teal?
Not AAA, for some reason I just prefer players to go to AA even if we are moving to New Orleans this year.

Penny back in Teal?
If he's cheep stash him in the Hendrickson role. Start off by starting the go into middle relief when we call Miller up which is what I think they should do to Miller for more control and an overall polished game.

Can you believe...
I was in my living room watching it on the big screen and I just remember watching Beckett tag Posada and then I just went crazy. I also went to every home playoff game that year. Sat in the greatest seats and the worst seats but they were all some great memories.

Trade Talk
i really dont want to trade mike....if he just cuts the strikouts down a little bit he is a great lefty threat which he already is I think this is more a function of your lying eyes... yes, he has good power, but his .299 OBP??? That's the lowest on the team for a position player. Compare him with our other high K players, and he is a bigger drain than a boon. He's really not worth it to our team for the raise he's going to get, considering we can put McPhearson out there and get comparable production for probably 400k instead of 3-4 million. Whoever they put at first (probably Cantu) will be an upgrade defensively. I have no problem trading Jake if it means keeping other pieces. While I don't like Jacobs I would much rather trade Hammer and maybe Hermida before him. Those power numbers are very impressive and we've all seen what he can do when he looks the other way. But I wouldn't be upset if he is gone.

Marlins' Fredi Gonzalez tabbed as top NL manager
Manager of the year is a bad award. I just think there is no set in stone qualifications. Is it the guy who did the most with nothing? Or the guy who got the full potential out of a team of stars? It is more of just a matter of where the journalists are located and who they get a chance to see more IMO.

Ya, what a great job Pinella did with a team of nothing but stars and a gm who would go out and get him a top starter at the deadline. A drunk pirate could have managed the Cubs to the point that Pinella did.

More Serious Trade Talk
According to the Miami Herald, the Marlins have been in serious talks to trade Mike Jacobs, Scott Olsen, and Kevin Gregg. The Royals nearly became suitors for Jacobs last week but the Fish weren't happy with the health of the pitching prospect that they were going to receive. Still, talks with other teams remain ongoing. The Marlins are hoping prospect Gaby Sanchez can fill in for Jacobs this season. Moving Olsen would also open up a rotation spot for Andrew Miller I wouldn't be objective to trading Willingham either. If we could get a young reliever for him I wouldn't be mad. What do you guy's think we can get for those 3 named in the article?
