  2. i think every manager in the majors would have kept JJ in for the 8th inning. the guy was pitching maybe his best game this season. he was on a roll retiring 20 straight batters. why would you want to replace JJ with a bullpen guy and disrupt the rhythm of not only our pitching but their hitting. the best situation for the Nations was taking out JJ. the other reason why you dont take him out was his competitive nature at a high successful rate. players hate being taken out of a game. players want to hit or pitch themselves out of poor situations that they put themselves and the team into. like to redeem themselves. even though JJ was struggling giving up 3 base hits, he has a strong competitive nature that wants to retire the 4th batter and get out of the inning without giving up too many runs. pitch out of the jam so he can build confidence within himself and with his teammates. If fredi takes JJ out too early JJ would be pissed off. JJ wnats the opportunity to pitch out of the jam that he got himself into. he wants to keep competing and doing it successfully. I know you're right. OK!!! I'm just really pissed of and embarrassed that we lost. tru yea i was upset about the loss as well. that type of loss is once a year.

  5. everytime a pitcher throws a breaking ball over the plate for a strike and uggla watches it, he is DONE for the rest of the at bat. But when is this guy going to come through in the clutch. when is he going to give the marlins a solid helms or nick johnson at bat. dan bats in a huge rbi spot in the batting order and needs to come through with solid at bats to produce big hits. we all know his production is extremely low this season, but in July it really went bad. walks dropped to its lowest and strike outs raised to its highest. 3 homeruns with 8 rbi. basically i see it as 5 rbi. slugging percentage down by .44. dan is a huge piece to the marlins playoff push with his position in the batting order and his potential hitting ability. but how long can we rely on his struggles??
  6. why do MLB teams not like the New Orleans affiliate??
  7. I think Hermida is considered a bust year by year. You can't look at his career and say bust because he has not played through his mid to late 20's yet. Rookie season (2006) was a disappointment because he was considered a top 5 prospect in baseball and predicted rookie of the year. Year 2 (2007) he put up good second half numbers, but poor numbers in the first half. Year 3 (2008) was a bust season for him because he did not improve on any category. Year 4 (2009 this season) he is putting up very similar numbers as last season. 25 is still a young age so he still has potential to produce. however he is viewed as a flop for under achieving in all his years as a Marlin. Some guys need to change teams and coaches. some guys need to be in their early to mid 30's. Perhaps that is the path Hermida will take. I hope I'm wrong and he can turn it around tomorrow, but who knows.
  8. im a junior at fsu and its been hard trying to watch marlin games because they arent all on tv. sometimes fsn has like bass fishing on during the marlins game, its frustrating. i estimate that i can watch 30% of the games. like watched josh johnson against the giants. i live on behind tennessee street next to the strip, but idk about that whole west of ocala thing. so i got to justin.tv to watch the marlin games.
  9. The marlins 6th overall pick, Kyle Skipworth, is hitting .189 at greensboro. through 169 at bats he has 32 hits 69 strike outs and 14 walks. through his last 15 at bats he has one hit with 11 strike outs. his last 11 at bats has 9 strike outs and no hits. Kyle has been hitting under .200 the entire season i find it to be a big concern since he is playing in GREENSBORO LOW CLASS A, a dream for hitters. he also struggled in rookie ball last season hitting .208. is it too early to declare bust on skipworth?? i would have liked to see the marlins draft Yonder Alonso instead. wat do u guys think??
