  1. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9302895/houston-astros-miami-marlins-chasing-dubious-records As you might have guessed, it's not a good thing. But on the bright side, having Stanton, Yelich, and LoMo back in this lineup should make it at least league average if they can stay healthy and produce when it is their respective times to join the club.
  2. I love seeing SBs from Yelich. Dude seems like he is a 5-tool player (or a very strong 4-tool player minus defense). Also LoMo's 2-5 is always nice to see. I can't wait for him to get back in the lineup this year. It'll be interesting to see if he is in this team's long term plans or not. Regardless, he is easily the best 1B we have in our system (unless Yelich plays it)
  3. I bet our June this year will be better than the previous two Junes. Combined.
  4. Doth my elden eyes deceive? A lead! We have a lead!
  5. And wouldn't you know it, on the free MLB.TV game of the day, I have a Spanish final exam. I'll be able to catch everything after 6 PM though! Hope Dietrich has a good debut.
  6. Also I noticed in the gamethread that there was some sort of shoutout to MB.com Can someone give some details about that??
  7. CC fielded at 2nd base near end of game. Is it temporary or permanent? I like Cogz as a person. He seems like a good guy. But his defense will be horrendous and his offense production not much better. Maybe if the FO gives him a chance to start at second, it will finally be that "last chance". You know what? This season is only watchable when new things are being tried. So with that in mind, why not give Coghlan a shot at 2nd? Honestly, what's the worst that could happen? Production from 2nd base has been miserable so far this year anyhow. Nick Green can man the bag if Coghlan doesn't perform. Plus bringing up Dietrich requires a subsequent 40-man roster move.
  8. Yay or nay on bringing up Dietrich?
  9. 18 hits for AAA? Not bad.
  10. Green is coming back up. JCRMarlinsbeat Solano to DL. Green selected. #marlins Good, that was the right move. I welcome back our former OPS leader (who incidentally was replaced by our new OPS leader, Ozuna)
  11. LeBlanc getting a shot at his old team and Ozuna's 6 game hit streak are the main things to watch here. I'd even go so far as to say the only things.
  12. Good news, everyone! Nick Green cleared waivers!
  13. This is the same man that threw a perfect game against us 3 years ago? I still say that prefect game was bulls***. The strike zone he got (and gets a lot because he cries) was ridiculous I agree. I was at that game. Dan Uggla almost got tossed in the 8th because he was arguing the extremely liberal strike zone. Halladay struck out 6 looking. Plus Mike Lamb sent a rope to CF that would have been a homerun in 90% of MLB ballparks

  15. Nooooooooooooooooo Marcell! Watch yo' back!
  16. They are babying Fernandez's arm They should I think he could have gone at least one more inning. But hey. All's well that ends well.
  17. Forget Rich and Tommy, someone hire Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf to be the Marlins announcer. I love this guy. Incidentally, al-Sahaf....how is your pal Saddam Hussein? Just like Giancarlo Stanton, Saddam is... well-hung. :cool :patriot
  18. Doesn't Valaika have options left? Seems like the smarter thing to do... If they're bringing up Diaz, they have to create a spot on the 40 Oh well. Hopefully Nick Green's play so far earns him a spot on some other team's 25-man roster. He deserves it.

  20. So this is a thing https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BI4hebNCAAI3Upm.jpg:large
  21. A couple of long games in AAA and AA. Hand looked nice. Also what does everyone think of Mark Canha? He should be a candidate to get a look at 1B if there's still little to no production out of that position by the middle of the season. At least as a September call-up.
  22. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/04/marlins-claim-duane-below.html And I know. That pun was bad and I should feel bad.
  23. The game ends at 3-2 as soon as the first runner crosses home plate AND the batter reaches first base. All the runs count with a home run because the batter is entitled to crossing home plate - that's the only reason all the other runners score. A question I have though is the following: What if two runners score before the batter reaches first base on a ball that stays in the ballpark? Its an incredibly unlikely scenario, but still. I think by rule both of the runs count since the batter needs to reach first base in order to officially have a hit.
