  1. Just my two cents from Chicago, but I can't see the White Sox unloading McCarthy or Young for Pierre. Ozzie is really high on both of those players (especially Young). Ozzie's quotes out here last week was that he wanted to see Young battle Anderson for CF next year and was unsure of Anderson's defense. While I would love to see a Pierre in CF for the World Champs next year, I think unless the Marlins ask for a different set of players it won't happen. Now the Cubs are getting desperate. They lost out on Furcal and might overpay to get a leadoff hitter and outfielder to replace/dump Corey Patterson. Right now they don't have a RF or CF (not even considering Corey) and they have a rookie in LF. The Cubs IMO are the best option for Pierre. The Yankees could make a bid but unless you're getting one of their top young pitchers who else do they have in their farm system. And the Rangers need pitching... although a guy like Pierre couldn't hurt. As for a former South Florida resident and follower of the Marlins (as my second team behind the ChiSox), I am sad to see all the dumping. Hopefully these youngsters have some pop and can turn so heads.
  2. I really hope they fix the "lefty glitch." I put Delgado on the Marlins and I can't hit a home run with him and it's really getting upsetting. :banghead As for the stadium detail, I would like to see relief pitchers warming up during the game and the stands down the right field line being a little more accurate. If you play at Kansas City, the stands are quieter, but I would love to see variable crowds.
  3. Well I'll be there Tuesday with all my Marlins gear on... I just moved back from So. Florida in March and while this isn't a perfect situation, trust me when I say that us Sox fans will try to do our part in pulling for Florida. I've had the pleasure of watching them on average of 15/20 games per year the past three years down there and have become my second-favorite team to the ChiSox... I've been following them as close through DirecTV this year and can't wait!!! I'm just sorry that all this crap is going on down there. Im going to buy my ticket online in the morning just so that I don't have to worry about anything come Tuesday...
  4. Know that if the Marlins decide to play their series against the Expos at the Cell, I too will be at two of the three games rooting on the Fighting Fish. I thankfully was able to send back my tickets from last Saturday in exchange for the last home game of the year vs. the Phillies (soonest I can get back out there), so this would give me a chance to cheer them on again. I've been to series at Milwaukee and St. Louis this year, but can't find any tickets for the series this weekend at Wrigley. Know that Sox fans will be there in full force cheering on the Marlins, but I too fear that Flub fans will make their way to the South Side where trouble is bound to ensue. Trust me, the last thing I need to see in our park is more Cub fans.... Anyway, the bigger issue is the hurricane and the safety of the state... I only pray that the storm passes west and leave the Sunshine State alone.
  5. :banghead :banghead :banghead Figures the tix would be only good through the 17th!!! I just exchanged my plane tix from last weekend to the last homestand vs. the Phillies.. I think I'm going to have to call and see if there is anything I can do so that I don't lose my money. If I can't Ill just have to buy new tix when I get down there.
  6. I have a question... Do you know when the Marlins will be coming out with a jersey with this year's WS patch? Their Web site is still pushing off last year's jerseys and didn't know if any of you had any information on where I can get one or when they might be coming out. I am just moving back to Chicago from So. Florida and obviously can't drive around to find one. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd even take a patch that I can put on myself.
  7. Guys, I'm so sorry that there were idiot Sox fans out there last night. I'm just moving back to Chicago after spending 3 great years in South Florida rooting on the Marlins. Us Sox fans hope to think that we're a little bit classier than the Cub fans that pollute major league stadiums around the league. But we can't vouch for all of them. Know the majority of us respect the game and don't committ ourselves to random, brain-dead taunting like you saw last night. Hope the rest of the series is as exciting as last night and am curious to see how Beckett fares Thursday.
  8. Glad to see the Marlins ranked so high... The true Marlins fans deserve to be rewarded for their dedication. All I can say as being a native of Chicago is that I feel blessed to have witnessed a World Series champ and Super Bowl winner in my first two years in The Sunshine State. Too bad my White Sox and Bears couldn't be as fortunate or successful.
  9. I was shocked watching the game today and hearing all the Cubs' fans when they scored in the 11th. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating that was. As for the task at hand, the Marlins need to win tonight (Saturday) and worry about Sunday when it comes. I was reading a Sun-Sentinel notebook item (will be in Sat's edition), that Prior will pitch Game 6... I have no idea if that's true, but if it is that bodes well for a 3-2 lead headed back to Chicago. If the Cubs take Game 4 you'll have an already pissed off White Sox fan even more angry at the game on Sunday. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE CUBS WIN IN MY BACKYARD!!! I didn't move down here to see this team make a WS appearance in 48 years. The Marlins should have won Friday, but they'll definitely win today. Go Fish!
  10. I just got done watching WGN in Chicago and the broadcasters were already saying, "When we win Tuesday." Sure the Marlins haven't had much luck with them the past few seasons, but after the SF series, this team can and will win... With 65,000+ at PPS this weekend, the Marlins will be WSB once again!
