  1. Great article...I agree with all the points you make...
  2. I really believe Beinfest was pumping up Leo to enhance his trade value...I agree with Lou in that we are gonna try to trade Leo and use those 4 mil to try and reel in Javy Vazquez...the team is shaping up really well...
  3. Boni is a serviceable CF... don't know why don't they give him the first shot back there...
  4. I mostly agree with everything you said but I really don't know what else we could've gotten for Uggla had we waited a little longer. Everybody knew we weren't signing him so people would've lowballed us. I think the pieces we got back in this trade will help us tremendously and I honestly believe we are a better team today than what he had on October 3rd when we beat the Pirates. Regarding Upton, I'd do a Ricky/LoMo and a low tier prospect for Justin Upton in a heart beat. Upton can play CF for us and he's a just a beast inside the batter box. Let's give Mr. Beinfest all the trust he's gained through the seasons he's been here since he keeps on putting competitive teams on the field over and over again with the lowest payroll in the Majors.
  5. has anyone seen Dominguez play? I haven't, and by his stats I don't think he's ready yet I've seen him play both at Jupiter and Jacksonville, defensively from what I've witnessed he's MLB ready! Offensively he appears to be a bit streaky he's had some good at bats but as shown the ability to get fooled. Based on what I've seen he appears to be able to 15+ HR's a season and provide a steady glove, hard call to say he's ready for the 2011 season. Thanks!! I'd start him at AA and if he hits well I'd bring him up...BTW, I'd say Boni CF, Cogz 2B and Infante at 3rd...
  6. Interesting question: Would you trade Stanton for Upton, straight up? Because if it's not Morrison going, it's Stanton. Stanton + Upton > Upton + Morrison. Don't get greedy, you can't have your cake and eat it too. I don't think I move Stanton in a deal for anyone not named Longoria, Zimmerman, Votto, or C. Gonzalez.... I really think that's the whole list. Maybe Wright. No pitchers. What about Posey? Heyward? Maybe Posey, a long shot but I'll consider it...definetely not Heyward...

I really think that's the whole list. Maybe Wright. No pitchers. I'd take Wright and Zimmerman off that list...Stanton is another beast...
  8. Morrison and Nolasco is a lot. I don't know what else you give because at some point it's not worth it. Nunez? Sure if it makes or breaks it, but if we're dipping into Dunn, West, Sanabia, James, Hand, Dominguez, and the real minor league talent pool, this will get risky. If the deal is Morrison, Nolasco, Ceda, and Badenhop, that is a no brainer 4-1 deal. Totally serious. Just use the money on a free agent starter, and we've traded Morrison and some relievers for Justin Upton. Win. I partially agree with you but think of the scenario we can roll out there: Cogz, J-Up and Stanton..I mean, we'll be replacing Uggs' bat in the lineup and then some while gaining on our outfield D...I think the trade of LoMo, Ricky and Ceda, bundled with some lowe tier prospects (I'm not including Dominguez, Skipworth, Sanabia, Jennings, Dunn, Hand and our top prospects) will make us instantaneously the second best team in the NL East...
  9. Yes. That is a no brainer. Not even some prospects. Give them Badenhop or Veras, someone we are going to DFA, or a relative non-prospect. We don't need to give anything else if we're giving up 6 years of Morrison and 2 years of Nolasco with some RP innings to sprinkle in. I don't think LoMo will ever reach J-Up status even though I'm the biggest LoMo fan there's out there...Ricky can be replaced by Sanabia/Pavano and we are pretty much set in the pen even though I do like Ceda. But you are not getting J-Up for nothing...
  10. Out of these 3 we all know that Sanabia can pitch...I'm esceptic about Villanueva and to a lesser degree Koehler...I think Villanueva can be a poor man version of Yusmeiro Petit...
  11. LoMo ain't going anywhere. Gaby, Ricky, Badenhop, Nunez, Hensley, Sanabia - Take any three. Lolza OK, any four. And throw in Villanueva and Koehler and Ceda. OK, any five. Those first two have no value, and Ceda is in "premier throw in" category with all his arm/off field troubles. Seriously, you don't get Justin Upton with a lot of good spare parts. You need to give up Logan or Stanton and a starter for them to even entertainment this. LoMo, Ricky, Ceda, and some prospects would do it for me. J-Up is a beast...
  12. has anyone seen Dominguez play? I haven't, and by his stats I don't think he's ready yet
  13. J-Up could play CF, no? The only reason he didn't in 'Zona was Chris Young. It would be Coghlan in LF, J-Up in CF, Giancarlo in RF, Omar at 2B. Perfect. Agree
  14. CF Upton LF Coghlan SS Hanley RF Stanton 1B Sanchez 2B Infante C Buck 3B Dominguez P Infante Cogz Hanley Upton Mike Gaby Buck Dominguez or Boni
  15. I mean, I'd do this trade any day of the week...I doubt that Beinfest can pull this one out because it would be too much of a coup for anyone but we've seen him do marvelous stuff before...
