  1. when we become Dodgers fans
  2. I'm sure there are a lot of "veteran bats" willing to keep their careers going for league minimum. Literally EVERY team signs at least one veteran bat in the off-season.
  3. I feel like he'll end up in Toronto for some reason
  4. oh wow didn't know MLB added a cap floor for Bruce to get over. man, will he ever be sad
  5. "we like what we saw out of the team last year and we expect those players to continue to improve so we are ok with trading Sandy and wish him the best. We'll spend money when we need to add players later but we want to see what we have"
  6. so when it's a poorly called game do we yell at Miles Dyson?
  7. how much smaller are their parks (not Parks)?

@pollythewog @Admin Big B? You out there making lemonade beverages and didn't share with the class? Who sanctioned this?
  9. It's not a rule if it's unwritten! That's my take. But yeah, he's going to be a DH I'm guessing and probably an emergency backup catcher at some point soon for good.
  10. They're still going to be a fringy playoff team at BEST that will require a fair amount of luck in any given year with Bruce as owner though. I really hope a salary floor will be implemented and force some of the shitty owners into selling - or showing their hands finally and be forced to actually pay for the privilege of owning a pro sports franchise (and having no problem doing so because they've been making plenty of money as it is from their teams)
  11. yeah it sucks it happened AFTER the deadline - I know, "Bendix was willing to sell if the offers were right but they werent so he held" will be run out there but part of me also believes he was being extra heavy on the demands because of their position. oh well, can't be proven either way but it was very suspect overall that none of the bigger names were moved. and yeah i agree that there's a difference between being excited and now disappointed versus just being surprised as their current results. many of us have been fans since their inception and we're ride or die no matter what. It still doesn't really matter what the current "plan" is either - it was fun to see them do well for a couple months and it sucks they fell flat on their faces to (yet again) the Braves. Nobody is surprised they're doing poorly again either. It also doesn't change the fact that I do not trust Bruce to do right by this franchise when the time comes to add some even moderate pieces or retain the ones that should be retained. I don't blame Clayton for any of this as you can't sit there and say he had zero to do with two hot months and is only at fault for the losses. I know there are some on here that blame him as that's always the de facto excuse any time a manager does/doesn't do something in hindsight. Personally, I'm just glad i haven't spent a penny on anything Marlins merchandise related in a few years now and didn't spend the money to stream their games this year (and also haven't watched a single game regardless even when they were playing locally). Bruce isn't getting a fucking cent from me until he actually stops being a pile of dogshit. He doesn't give a damn about the fans so i won't waste my time getting deeply invested like I have in years past only to be let down over and over and over by an owner who is cheap af and just uses the franchise as his personal ATM machine.
  12. Ain't like we didn't know this wasn't going to happen at some point. Makes total sense to get to .500 and then turn to trash again. I was getting too invested into them again this season and almost broke my vow of refusing to pay any more money to watch Bruce's bargain team and I see my patience has been rewarded. I just needed to take a couple weeks off and all has been righted again.
  13. he'll hit a homerun tonight or you can ban everyone for 5 minutes
  14. is this a sponsored post....oh...why yes, yes it is
  15. And if he doesn't forget he's banned for two weeks.
  16. Got money on Houston!
  17. I'm putting a few bucks on the Yankees tomorrow. So hard to sweep good teams.
  18. Lol we all know that money won't be reinvested into a legit MLB player. Bruce out there salivating at clearing Sandy's salary
  19. Wasn't aware De Vries was injured.
  20. we'll know what the mandate was/is based on the return
  21. so if the rumor about the Astros is true - what would constitute an overpay from them for Sandy?
  22. So what's your take on trading Sandy? I feel like he's still part of the core, he has had success in the past, and he seems to be FINALLY turning the corner in his last few starts. He's also still under control a couple more seasons. I'm not against it but I still feel like despite what Bendy dicks has said, Sherman wants him to shed payroll and he'll take back a meh offering for Sandy. Especially if, like someone above pointed out, the Astros don't really have a real headliner to trade for.
