I mean…you traded Ronnie for Fairbanks essentially. I agree with the signing completely, but the team isn’t any better than it was last year so they still haven’t actually “done” anything to improve the team

The bar is so low that I’m stunned in a good way! I imagine Ronnie’s injury pushed this over the finish line. Solid signing.

the deal includes a $1MM signing bonus and another $1MM in incentives based on appearances. Fairbanks will also receive a bonus of $500,000 if he is traded. The deal is pending a physical.

What people need to realize is that the Marlins obviosly knew that Ronny was hurt even before the offseason. Just because the news came out for us that he will miss 2026 does not mean the team had no idea. Would not be surprised that the Ronny situation is why they were shopping for a high end reliever in the first place and that Ronny being out will not make them pivot for more relief help.
