March 18, 200422 yr I was told to stay away but I couldn't take this anymore with the venon out there. The Marlins don't negotiate in the media, so because of that people such as those Dolphins homers on the radio waves make up what they perceive to be true. They have an agenda people. OPEN YOUR EYES!! Why do they want any stadium deal to die?? because they know Wayne is a businessman who doesn't like to lose money. Which would happen, if Wayne loses 80 events at HIS stadium. There beloved Dolphins won't have those $$$$ to pay those big bonuses for there free agents. People put two and two together. WHY? They have there agenda to use there platform to mention this issue at ever moment they can in negative way? There agenda to TURN THE PUBLIC OFF TOWARD THE MARLINS Do they live in Miami Dade County? Most on this board see this people for what they are...HATERS. Some though who are fans of both team believe the crap from this people. I just ask you this...PLEASE, wait till May 1st and see what happens before you point fingers at who doesn't have the money or who killed the deal...OK But again the bottomline is make sure Wayne's pockets don't get depleted by the Marlins leaving the PPS.

March 18, 200422 yr People say this about Wayne, but what I dont understand is, if the Marlins get a stadium deal or not, theyll be out of PPS by 2007 or a year or two later. By that time, theyll either be moving to a new stadium in south florida or a new city elsewhere. If Wayne wont renegotiate the lease, theres no way the Marlins will stay there, new stadium or not.

I have been saying this for a long time now. Wayne is going to do everything he can to keep the Marlins in his clutches. This hurts him more than has been made - JRS will still demand upkeep and operating costs while the Dolphins only fill it for 8 games a year (because you know they arent ever going to the playoffs). I tell you, I was once a huge fan of the Dolphins, but the more this political tug of war is dragged on, the more I hate that franchise because of who owns it. I hope the Marlins leave and the Dolphins NEVER AGAIN make the playoffs - forcing H-bomb to sell. I dont know why you have been told to stay away from this board, Edcanes, but I can tell you that this notion you bring up is nothing new. At least, not in my opinion. I have brought this up before and others have made a similar observation since. I just hope that the politics are on the Marlins side now.

Dammit, stop making sense.
March 18, 200422 yr The issue isn't whether the Marlins stay or not Ross, it's about losing all that revenue AND having another venue to compete with where eventually you might have another football team playing when another upstart group of bazillionaires decide they want to start a new league. And if the other other venue is roofed and air conditioned and comfortable who would book a rock concert or car show or rodeo or soccer match or whatever into your venue when they can go to one with all the creature comforts? Keeping the Marlins down and out has always been WH's strategy and it continues to be today.
March 18, 200422 yr im not about to add on the Dolphin hateraid BUT i do think its awkward for anyone who is a fan of the 2 teams. Wayne H sux and its sad...
March 18, 200422 yr I hope the Dolphins NEVER AGAIN make the playoffs um no. more like HELL NO i think wayne sucks to, i hate his ass for what he's done to the marlins but J it is akward, i love my dolphins and im about to get my season tickets back and when i read some of this s*** i feel like we're looked at as non-true marlin fans because we also love the dolphins.
March 18, 200422 yr Good report edcanes you might wanna use better punctuation and not use caps to yell so i didnt read it all. This is nothing new to us we know he loses money if the marlins leave PPS.But regardless of what wayne wants he has nothing to do with us getting a stadium deal and at the end the way talks have been goin quietly,i am positive a deal will be done by the new deadline they set.If they knew they wouldnt get it done by then they wouldnt bother setting anymore deadlines.
March 18, 200422 yr its not that you guys arent Marlins fans its just hard to deal with all the politics goign on with H.W. its hard to explain.
March 18, 200422 yr i know what youre saying, i know exactly where youre coming from but then that all leads to trashing the dolphins and it is akward for me sometimes.
March 18, 200422 yr BTW EdCanes... Welcome back. It's nice to have someone to argue with again. Although I almost always disagree with you I wouldn't have it any other way.
March 18, 200422 yr And you might want to try a little spell-checking before you post Sheff. Oh by the way, when do you think they'll be throwing Sheffield's butt out of major league baseball for his use of steroids? Before or after the all-star break? Nice to have you back Edcanes. Post more often will ya buddy :thumbup
March 18, 200422 yr i know what youre saying, i know exactly where youre coming from but then that all leads to trashing the dolphins and it is akward for me sometimes. *not trashing the Dolphins* i cant trash a team that i honestly dont care about. now if Wayne owned the Eagles...

March 18, 200422 yr If anyone went to Dolphins or Canes boards and you saw some of the stuff posted about the Marlins (especially about the stadium issue) most of you would have no problem trashing the hapless, perrenial playoff-less Dolphins. The trash talk on some of those boards about the Fish is piled a mile high.

They havent made the playoffs in some time and their team is highly overrated. Until they improve their offensive line...a chorus sung even when Marino was here. A downfall would denote a position from which to fall from. The Dolphins have no such position. And as Marlins2003 has pointed out, the bashing of the Marlins by Dolphans is ridiculous and constant. My question is, why is there a line in the sand here? I just know I was once a big Dolphins fan, but that anti-Dolphins sentiment grows in response to anti-Marlins sentiment from that camp. There is something to be pointed out and examined here - which is essentially what Edcanes is talking about. Look how you posters here are ready to bash Marlins' fans here who dont like the Dolphins. Why?
March 18, 200422 yr I dont like the Fins plain and simple ... i despise their owner because of what he has done to the marlins franchise, and because of that i wont support his team. Unfortunatly i still have to give him my money so i can go catch the good guys (marlins) i hate business and I also hope the dolphins dont reach the playoffs for a long time ... not gonna say ever because thats not nice, but i want them to do bad for some period so wayne can see what he missed on.

March 18, 200422 yr For the past thirty-odd years, the Dolphins have been basically the RedSox of the NFL. Always pumped up, always thinking they were close, but doomed to failure. The infrastructure was always weak, from shaky defenses to poor receivers to no runner to lousy blocking. Always something missing; always some excuse. When I announced to friends before the 2003 season that I was no longer a Fin fan, they thought I was kidding. I was not. H-bomb is clearly part of it, but more so is the incessant SuperBowl talk and expectations. It gets old after a while, and (OK shoot me) I actually enjoy the reactionary response from our immature bretheren when they lose. It's really kinda funny (and pathetic). To me, the Fins are just entertainment. The Marlins are more, much more. In a football dominated landscape, I am glad to see at least those present here seem to share my passion. Football is an event. Baseball is a lifestyle.
March 18, 200422 yr Football is an event. Baseball is a lifestyle. and don't forget baseball has the gods :notworthy
