April 1, 200422 yr Today, the Marlins sent IF Wilson Valdez to AAA, and C Matt Treanor, OF Ryan Christenson and Gerald Williams, and IF Admin Sutton and Derek Wathan to minor league camp. Looks like the bullpen battle will come down to the last day.
April 1, 200422 yr Author Also of note: The Tigers sent Urbina to the Lakeland of the Florida State League, presumably to get in shape, considering he hasn't picked up a baseball since game six of the W.S. The Tigers also waived journeyman reliever Esteban Yan. The White Sox sent Jason Grilli to AAA (I thought he was picked in the major league portion of the Rule V draft?)

April 1, 200422 yr Anyone have a moment to explain to me the difference between being assigned to a minor league team and assignment to "minor league camp?" Is the "camp" just a holding place until a team assignment is made?

Lee he would go away on the boards. But he, like herpes, flares up every now and again..... Sigh. Sweet irony.

I'd say Easley is a sure bet, he's batting over .400 for the spring.
