Well if no stadium gets built this franchise is doomed, they minus well be contracted because then what will happen is they will sell off all their good players, again, this time they would loose all fans and basically doom baseball in SoFLA.

The price differential is a simple thing called appreciation. Minute Maid was built over five years ago. While it cost $225M then, that doesn't mean it's $225M today. Just take the simple example of your house, if your house costs the same today as it did five years ago, you've got a major problem. I know that in the span of only 2 years, the value of my house has gone up 35 to 50%.

So it's the last call of the night before the Marlins game and some guy calls Fat Hank and says "How about the State taking back what's left of the tax rebate they gave Wayne and use for a stadium. He couldn;t have spent $10 million to retro fit the stadium....blah blah"

 

Hank ignores the callers point and for five minutes repeats, almost word for word what he said to start the show (see my post above).

Hank thinks people are sheep who must listen to him and be led by him and believe everything he says...he thinks he is somebody, he is nobody.

I normally don't listen and I NEVER listen to an entire show but I did because I believed that Samson or Loria would call in to refute the Fat One. What a disappointment to not have them call in and then to have repeat his allegations twice. Grrrrrr

Fat Hank and his cources are reliable.Is not such a far fetch theory like some of you think.It actually makes alot sense and I for one wouldn't be surprise if that really Loria true intentions.

Sure that $30 million debt would be erased, but then Loria would fall further into debt staying in Pro Player. I don't know who to believe, but Loria seems to genuinely want to win, so for him to tank all stadium efforts seem to go against what I see him standing for.

The Deal involves building a stadium in S.Florida if the Marlins falters then he is free to move the team elsewhere without having to pay a single dime out of 30 mil.It makes alot sense to me and if you think about it will be a smart business move by Loria on his behalf.Loria reputation is salvage because "he tried" and saves 30 mil plus pocket the money he would receive from the city he will be moving into.

I'm not saying that Hank is right here, but I don't exactly trust Loria 100%. I've seen what he did in Montreal, and the way expo fans hate him. I know this isn't going to be a popular thing to say on this board, but it's the way I feel.

I've met him before and I've watched part of a Marlins game with him at Shea, and I personally think that a lot of the stuff he gets flak for is unfounded. Samson is a little s***, but Loria seems like a good person, I trust him more than I do Samson.

Yes he did in order to seem like he is trying.I really think Hank is right on this one.Just by the way negotiation were handle on the behalf of the Florida Marlins.It just didn't make sense how long they waited to present a proposal to State and the way it was presented not to mention amount of effort put into it.It is almost like they didn't want to succeed with the state legislative.

I'm not really worried. I say we call their bluff. Where are the Marlins going to move to? Last time I looked, there aren't brand new stadiums sprouting up all over the country, I mean the first team that is going to get moved is the Expos, and they don't look like they are going anywhere anytime soon. I think the threat of "Build it or we won't come" has been used as a threat for way to long in pro sports, I don't think the Marlins have the oppertunity to leave. In closing, I know I am probably going to get ripped for this, but like it or not, Hank IS a Marlins fan, and unlike many on this board, is a season ticket holder. Just because he doesn't sit on the radio and blow smoke where the sun don't shine, doesn't mean he doesn't have a love for the team. I would much rather listen to both sides of a story then listen to radio jocks like Joe Zakaki, who practially bleeds orange and green. Some of the stuff Hank has said in the past (like the fact that the Marlins offer to Pudge wasn't really seven mil, it included all the money that we already owed him) opened my eyes to some of the double talk in the orginization.
