Das Texan
the chargers dont have the balls to take eli anyway. they are trading that pick before the time expires on saturday anyway.

Hugg
I still haven't seen anything that shows me Eli Manning said he doesn't want to play for the Chargers. All I've seen is Archie Manning saying he doesn't want the Chargers to draft his son. They're 2 different people.
bman8316
Since when does a college star get to pick who he is playing for. I know that he can go and holdout from signing a contract, but in the end that will hurt him as much as the Chargers. I hope that they do pick him and then he dosent play all season, I would love to see the Chargers waste another pick.

Is he too scared or something? he'll have Tomlinson as his RB so its not like its an AWFUL situation.
Rebirth
Archie has to stop crying. If Archues wants his Eli as be a franchise player, just suck it up and let him play for the Chargers.

farmer_fran
I don't understand this, can you imagine Eli and Tomlinson in the same backfield they could be good for years.

rferry
I wouldn't want to play the Chargers or even the Broncos. Give me the glitz and glamor of the northeaast where I can be hyped every day of the week. What is probably most interesting about ths is how this changes the first ten draft picks. If the Chargers move down to #4 and take PhiLLLLip Rivers who was expected to go to Pittsburgh at 11 that means everone moves back a bit. Fitzgerald and Gallery are solid bets for 2 and 3, but the big loser may be Kellen Winslow. He's not really the blocking tight end Skins' coach Joe Gibbs likes, and might drop below the other talented receivers. Any scramble to get Roethlisberger will see teams that may have taken a tight end take a package of picks and grab Ben Toupe or Ben Watson later. Special K
Archie doesnt want Eli to go to San Diego simply becasue their o-line is horrid. They couldnt protect a bologna sandwich fellas. Period. The reason ELi said he's willing to sit out this season if the Chargers pick him is because his dad went to their GM man to man in private and addressed his concerns about Eli playing behind a s***ty O-Line, then the Chargers took it public. That's straight up bush league by that franchise. Period. They probably had no intention of picking Maanning # 1 anyway, they just did this so they can avoid the fans crying foul if they picked someone else. Ramp
but if the Chargers were to pass on Eli w/o letting the public know why, they would lost alot of money in season tix now they have a legit scapegoat in Manning I like what they did, and I hope they still take Manning and he sits out all year and sobs like a little girl
reclusedx
and the Giants O - line is better?????..please look i didnt want to say this but this guy is a p***y, he is unproven and he has his dad doing interviews trying to run and ruin everything for him. His dad shouldnt interfere and Eli should just shut up aswell. Yeah i agree with Ramp, Eli said that he would sit out for the entire season if the Chargers drafted him and now i'm hoping that happens because he's a p***y. Izzie
Well the whole Manning family got their wish. Did you guys see Eli's expression when he had to hold up the Chargers jersey. What an a**hole. You didn't see Lebron say "No I don't wanna play for the Cavaliers, they suck" or you didn't see Carmelo open his mouth. I've lost all my respect for him, he thinks he's a big shot because of his last name. Give me a break. I hope him and the Giants suck this year. Thats because both of those organizations have made a commitment to winning. Also LeBron lived like less than an hour away from Cleveland. I understand where the Mannings are coming from. Its not that the organization lost a lot of games last year its just that they don't think the owner is intent on doing what it takes to win. Well let's say Atlanta had had the first pick of the NBA draft. That's probably the last team anyone would wanna play for but I bet you Lebron would have kept his mouth shut. And the whole "Oh if the Chargers pick me, I'm gonna sit out the whole season"....any other guy out there would have died to even be in his position to be in the NFL Draft and be a first pick but no he wants to act all stupid about it.
