Did you guys see him today. He went 3-4 with two doubles and a monster homerun. I know that we won the world series, but it would have been nice if we could have kept him. instead of trading for Choi, we could have gotten someone else.

We didn't trade him for Choi. We traded him for Ugueth Urbina who was great when we needed him. And we did it because our bullpen was shaky last year. Would you rather have us win the WS last year, or have a prospect who might not even lead us to a WS? Seriously, I'd take a WS Championship over a good prospect any day. We're still a great team.

Here we go...

Adrian Gonzalez is not on the Marlins...please move this garbage to the MLB forum.

:banghead And there's already a topic on there, too. :lol

I don't have a problem with this thread being in the Marlins forum, since it's basically about the Marlins. No one would give a crap otherwise. Some of you may not give a crap anyway.

Look, it's very simple...we don't make that trade, we don't win the World Series. That makes it a good trade FOR ALL TIME. I don't care if Adrian Gonzalez goes on to be better than Babe Ruth. We won the World Series. End of discussion.

That said, I can't help but root against him. I'm pretty jealous. He's 21, he's in the majors, he's got a home run, and he's probably going to be pretty good. The future would look even sweeter if he were around.

Didn't Adrian play SS? Is he already in the majors?

I was shocked when I heard we packaged him in the Urbina deal. We won the WS so I think it was a brilliant move, moreso because he had trouble hitting after his injury.

agreed... theres no need in being anally retentive. this does have something to do with the marlins, unlike most threads in the MLB forum, and the discussion is certainly pertinent to the marlins and to the posters on this board, so i dont mind it being here.

i saw the highlights on espn and it looked like the rangers had a liftoff-fest that game. i must say, this kid is off to a pretty impressive start in limited play time.

Exactly!

Would we have won the Series without Urbina? Maybe, but we did, and I don't think worrying about the future at that point would be reasonable.

I'm glad to see him doing well he was always good about signing autographs. Sometimes trades work great for both teams and even though the Marlins part was short lived it worked out well for them. No complaints and keep up the great job Adrian.
