You have no idea of the environmental impact that factory farming has. Runoff chemicals, grazing land, feeds with steroids and other stuff that may be dangerous to humans, water use, air pollution, etc. contributes to the death of local wild life, populations and consumers.

This just doesn't happen in the U.S. and 'those communist countrries'. Places like Colombia and Venezuela have suffered through not only the environmental impact but political corruption related to factory farming.

The similar type of manipulation exists here in the U.S. The actual cost of meat is a lot more than you pay at the grocery store, but is brought down by a lot of tax breaks. One of PETA's pet peeves is that all Americans are propping up a dangerous and morally bankrupt industry that contributes nothing good to the country. Even as a person that eats meat (sparely) I've got to agree.

well tferry, you are blowing the impact way out of proportion. what they inject into cows stimulates milk production. it does not cause you harm. grazing land? it grows back. that is why it is controlled. so please dont throw factory farming out there because its not even a noticable factor when it comes to enviornmental effects.

No, the grazing land rarely 'grows back', if at all because of soil erosion, water use, contamination of water and soil and acid rain. Algae is quite common around factory farms and kills off local water life.

Thanks for the invitation. Can I bring Durham's famous Bullock's BBQ?

pppffftttt how is algae bad, algae is one of the basic sources of food@! without algae there verywell would not be lifeforms in water

It's when the algae overcomes the water source that water life can not receive oxygen.

It's when the algae overcomes the water source that water life can not receive oxygen.

And let's not forget our friend the "red tide". You want some neurotoxin to go with your clam?

It's when the algae overcomes the water source that water life can not receive oxygen.

um, did you even know what you are saying?

algae is what GIVES oxygen to the water

algae is what GIVES oxygen to the water Healthy amounts of algae, yes, but not when it is out of control which is what happens when factory farms move in and contaminate the land.

once again, you dont understand what you are talking about, and once again, the effect that factory farms have on the enviornment are blown wayyyyyy out of proportion.

and with that said, how would there be enough supply w/o factories?!?! you need to raise enough stock to meet the demand of it. otherwise, humans would starve like they do in overpopulated places like india and china.

You got a plane ticket? Im in Columbus! *brrrrr*

this is rediculous, people are out of their minds at this point. id like to add that if you placed a mirror infront of a cow, that cow would not know its a reflection of itself, even if it knew its every gesture.

same goes for a goldfish.

not a good criteria to use.

neither do dogs, but most people would consider it pretty disgusting if dogs were slaughtered for food.

Let me just say that PETA is a terrorist group full of morons...

Someone said they got thrown a bucket of paint on their truck... let me say that if they did that to me... I hope they can out run me cause I'm going to beat the living sh*t outta em...

Let me just say that when a person is mostly worried about an animal's right instead of a human's right... should be immediately thrown into a mental hospital...
