Miguel and Hee Seop

What an amazing future these two guys seem to have ahead of them. At 21 and 25-years-old, respectively, Cabrera and Choi are already pretty cut and filled out physically. The talent is obviously there, and Bill Robinson is obviously twisting every drop out of them. They're going to be two very productive bats in our order this season (I wouldn't overlook All-Star appearences for either of them THIS year if they keep it up) and for many, many more to come.

Sorry, I just wanted to get my two cents in on the C.C. Express.

Putting Hee Seop and Miguel in the same sentence at this point overexaggerates the skills of Choi BUT............

Cabrera is going to be an all star calibur player in this league for several years IMO, and Choi has the potential to be a VERY good player.

So good and so young, that's a theme on this Marlins team.

Let's hope Choi's numbers are still respectable by the end of the season (let's face it he isn't going to be doing this every month) but so far he looks to be a far superior player (in every facet of the game) than any of us dared to expect. He's got a great eye at the plate. Kudos to Admin B.

The Kid (Cabs) just looks better and better. And better and better and better.

I think Cabrera and Choi can be put in the same sentence, because both has exceeded expectations.

For Cabrera a 30/100 season is well within reach.

Let's not forget that Choi hasn't played all the time, and 30/100 is also possible. He is showing patience at the plate, power and above average D at 1st. He seems to be a very intelligent player making the right decisions on base running and Defense. In addition, he seems to be a an OBP machine

Both can be All Stars.

Choi and Cabrera can't be mentioned in the same sentence? R u kidding me? Choi and Cabrera are 2 very young talented players... Choi makes some very very very smart plays, he also has a very very good eye at the plate, and he has a ton of potential. Cabrera is just amazing... :)

Guys,

At the start of the 2003 season Choi was one of the top prospects in MLB. For some reason all the praise went south. The guys power is for real...that is not a question. Choi may very well hammer 30 homers this season. The question is will he hit .290+? Doubftul. Will he hit 260+? Hopefuly. Will he hit .220? That's why the Cubs dealt for Lee as they wanted to win NOW.

Lost on the world so far is Choi's defense at first base. He still won't be getting to the balls down the line because nature told him he would field with his right hand not with his left, but the picks he is making right now are right where that position's defense left off last year and his stretches are just as good as well. I have yet to miss DLee defensively at the bag.

People, calm down...stop dreaming so much: Choi and Pierre aren't making the NL All Star team, if Pierre makes it, it's because Jack called it! The outfield is basically taken already, or do you guys expect Pierre to win a spot over Sosa, Alou, Bonds...???? And Choi, come on?!

Alou? May I ask what you are smoking? My same thought.

I'd take Cabs over Alou any day. Alou might be doing good now but he probably will cool off sooner or later, or get injured. (I hope not for the former Marlins sake but it probably will happen.

Yes, my friends, I totally agree with you, BUT: the majority of All Star Game voters vote on FAME, not on PERFORMANCE. If people voted for performace, half of the marlins team would be in Houston come July! That's why I say Alou will get the berth over Cabs, although I'm certainly giving all my votes to "the Kid".

I mean if we're proclaiming Choi the next big thing in our organization because of his hot start, Alou's .363 average, 7 HR's and 18 RBI certainly warrant a place, and the fact that he's a proven commodity warrants an All-Star vote (Cabrera is getting mine); as it stands right now, Alou's #10 in BA in the N.L.

There aren't many more first basemen in the NL right now playing better baseball than Choi. I don't know why you see it obsurd that he makes the team. And Pierre will make the team as a pinch-runner; Jack will find anyway to get that boy on the team.
