May 1, 200422 yr You know, I came on here to start a post about the exact same thing....This ump was completely horrible. In the first couple of innings, if the pitch wasn't right down the middle, it was a ball....However, I must say in the first couple of innings, it went both ways. I think Correia threw some pitches that looked good too that weren't called....and I'm not just saying that cause I'm a Giants fan too....When the Giants and Marlins play, I'm all Marlins... As the game went on, I think the calls started going the Giants way. Even Bump didn't get some calls I thought were good and the Giants pitchers started getting the calls. Not only was that last pitch to Cabrera way low and outside, but he called one on Lowell a couple of innings earlier that was just as bad....the guy flat out SUCKED !!
May 1, 200422 yr That ladt call on Cabrera was complete bull! And when JP got picked off, he didnt really get picked off. The guy DROPPED THE BALL!!! Even the announcer said the ump was wrong! Then that guy had the nerve to pick it up while JP's body was covering it and shows it to the ump as if he had the ball in his hand the whole time! Wtf was that???

May 1, 200422 yr There were some pitches on Willis that were in the strikezone and the Umpire didnt call them. He was some what consistant but alot of balls that Willis threw were very close.
May 1, 200422 yr This is the trouble Willis gets into every start. He has trouble throwing strikes and takes forever to adjust to a small strike zone. But once he does he's automatic.
May 1, 200422 yr both teams had terrible pitching last night, so you cant really blame the umpires for stretching the strike zone and "helping" both teams out.
