still pretty demoralizing loss wouldnt you agree?

yeah, they should just conceed game 3 and 4 and pack their bags and go back home

Well, it's true our team ERA has suffered quite a bit on this road trip.

It looks like Dontrelle gets a bit too wound up when playing in front of family and friends. I heard he bought 150 tickets for the game. He might want to reconsider in the future as all the hoopla and he blows his concentration.

I'm pretty sure I recall a game in San Fran last year where he didn't pitch very well either.....

you're gonna lose games yea i know that. its a given in baseball even for the best of teams, but i mean the WAY it went about happening. just horrible loss

Yup, our boys are gonna lose some games. Not the end of the world. Just gotta keep your head up and roll with the punches. They'll come out swingin' later today.

The one good thing about this club is they don't let these types of losses get to them. If anything they will likely play a very good game tomorrow.

get em tomorrow

Amen! :thumbup

I seem to remember a 13-10 loss on this road trip in which the Marlins were up going into the Bottom of the 8. I think that was was even more demoralizing, but the Fish came back the next day :mischief2

Geez people, it's 1 fluke game they lost, stuff like this happens when you play almost everyday for 6 months.

All you can do is go get them tomorrow (well today now).

I'm glad you folks aren't white sox fans, with some of the games we've lost (and almost lost) many of you would have "taken the plunge" by now.

To an extend yes.

Marlins wasted a 7 run lead.

Keep your chin up guys, you could lose the way the Reds do by giving up just enough runs no matter what the lead (9, we beat you) to lose... lol

i think i remember hearing a stat last year that said that we lost by 10+ runs on like 7 different occasions, and we came back to win the next game 6 of those 7 times. and that included that ridiculous game in Boston where Pavano gave up like 20 runs in the first inning. you want to talk about a demoralizing loss, THAT would have been it. but i think this team has simply shown they do not get demoralized.

i wonder if this is part of the problem baseball has in Florida. we are so football oriented, and football teaches us to treat every regular season loss with utmost importance. and to top it off, the Dolphins and the Hurricanes, have both been in championship contention almost every year for the last 20 years, which means they rarely lose those regular-season games. fans in Florida just are not trained to handle defeat in the regular season.

The thing that gets to me the most is how we could have prevented the lost (minus the screwed up umps), we still could have won if it weren' t for out shaky defense. But yea its over.... We'll get them today! Let's go Marlins!!!

I guess some people get over losses better than others.... but I remember during last year's season I was devastated after any loss....

Now it's like, ok we lost, get em tomorrow.... maybe it's because alot of us are older so we know that we play the next day and one game doesnt ruin a season.... I dont know

and this is in no way putting down some of the younger members on this board but seems like they get the most hung up on losses now

I dont think its age, i think its you personalty, like some people can find good in a loss, and some cant. But def some people handle it better than others, and it doesnt mean they are any less of a fan. I think another thing is people who are football and baseball fans tend to be more upset about losing, cuz in football there are so few games.

You gotta have the closer's mentality and just forget about the negatives pretty quickly.
