Guest Moneyball
rob neyer says he's a little overrated. but yes this would be a huge trade for the phillies.
miami15
That would be deadly.

Passion
So I'd take it you would rather see Beltran with the Sox?
Beinfest4Prez
So I'd take it you would rather see Beltran with the Sox? Hell, I'd want him on the Yankees even if there was a chance in Philly. Ed Wade, go get stuck in a ditch already.

catchoftheday
saw this on cbs.sportsline.com "ESPN 920 in philly is reporting phils and kc talking trade, beltran for marlon byrd and top pitching prospect gavin floyd." woah ... thats actually not that bad of a trade it would crush us, just imagine that outfield Burrell / Beltram / Abreu im gonna go hide in my cave now :pullhair
Heckeroo
well, they're the phillies, they'll find a way to choke. BTW, Gavin Floyd is the man. Imagine the 1-2 punch KC would have: Greinke and Gavin good trade for both teams, philly gets beltran, and KC gets a CF and a Top Pitching prospect for a guy they were going to lose for nothing at the end of the season
Libelula
Come on people. We're the WORLD CHAMPION MARLINS. Look at our damn rotation when AJ comes back. We'll get BP help and we'll get a bat. Anything the Phillies do, The Marlins STILL find a way to beat them. They could get anyone they want but The Fish don't care. They'll go out, play hard, and probably win. And it's not gonna happen. Everyone wants Beltran, but let's be serious, the Yankees are gonna get him.
Hugg
And it's not gonna happen. Everyone wants Beltran, but let's be serious, the Yankees are gonna get him. The Yankees will NOT get Beltran in a trade, they don't have the kind of goods the Royals would want. If I'm the Royals, I'd pull the trigger on that offer, if it's legit. That's going to be hard to top.
Craig
I'm sticking with my statement from opening week that Carlos Beltran is the best all around outfielder in baseball, and is probably right there with Alfonso Soriano for the title of best all around player in baseball. You hear the term "5 tool player" a lot, but Beltran is it for sure. There isn't a thing he can't do, except pitch. This trade would be a major blow to the Marlins. I'm kind of torn about this, because I don't want him going to the Marlins main rival, but I want him to get the heck out of the White Sox division. Sals
i doubt that will get the job done. Not a bad offer at all. Floyd is amazing and Byrd is not bad.
Rune
i doubt that will get the job done. Just like you guaranteed, Millwood stood no chance of coming back to Philly. Or maybe you missed Floyd blowing away everyone at The Futures Game, Floyd is a top prospect on almost any team, THe Phillies just happen to have Hamels as well. Ramp
if Im the Royals I jump at this deal it will probably be the best thing they get offered
