June 2, 200422 yr I was a Castro supporting during spring training, this guy has sucked so badly, I can't be positive about him anymore...
June 2, 200422 yr i can't believe you people are happy about somebody getting hurt. He has an inflamed big toe, it's not like he fractured his arm. And honestly, I doubt he even has an injury, the front office is probably just using that as an excuse to put him on the DL and bring someone up from the minors. The articles seem to state that officially Castro was put on the 15-day DL after last night's game, but that Treanor had actually been called up BEFORE yesterday's game. Not sure if that's accurate, but if so you can do the math.
June 2, 200422 yr I don't think that's possible, Howard had been called up recently and there was no where to put Treanor unless someone got sent down besides Castro.
June 2, 200422 yr I just guess Castro isnt an Every-day player.... he is better off as a pinch hitter or something.

Actually the Sentinel article says the Marlins had decided to call up Treanor before Tuesday's game. Before the game, the Marlins decided to promote Triple-A Albuquerque catcher Matt Treanor, who was hitting .280 with seven homers and 31 RBI. So yeah, they didn't need to make room for him until after the game obviously (when Castro was put on the DL), but if this is correct, then evidently the Marlins were already planning on a move even before Castro took himself out. I wouldn't think they'd carry 3 catchers, & since Castro's out of options they wouldn't just demote him to AAA... Maybe the writer just made a mistake & meant to write "after the game"...
