July 7, 200422 yr Well, I think it's pretty sad watching Abe Nunez sit in the duggout looking sad! If they were winning, that would be one thing...but when you are losing, and creating no offense, I feel you have to shake things up! My opinion is, that Jack cooled a HOT Nunez off by not playing him from day one! Conine was totally out of it from his sinus infection, and because he was not allowed to rest and fully recover...he has never gotten back to where he should be. If Abe did not perform after several starts coming right out of his great Spring...then you could truly say that his Spring was possibly a fluke. But he was never allowed to con't. his momentum from Spring! And then you stick a cool Nunez in and expect him to do something??? Not a lot of players are good at that! Even Lenny Harris needs to play once and a while! 442330[/snapback] Who knows what could had happen if he would started a Hot Nunez from day one.I think Nunez gave up on this team because there was friction between him and Jack since spring training. I don't agree with giving up on your team but Mckeon always had it against him from the start.

Just remember, McKeon is old-school and expects everyone to hustle, be a team player and make no excuses. Based on previous experiences, it seems as if McKeon frowns about those who think they are prima dona status. Last year's team had no prima donas and played together as a team. Red, Castro, Mordy and others did not play much at all however when ask, they perform up to their capabilities....nothing great but average and did not cost us games. Nunez is in a different mindset, one that I suppose does not sit well with the TEAM nor McKeon
