He can get injured. He has Very Bad Mechanics, just because he lands Perfect doesnt mean anything. Pitchers can get injured very easily....

 

It would be nice to get Benson here to south Florida, He has good stuff he just needs to improve on curtain things that our pitching coach can help out with but he isnt worth being traded for Penny or Lee....

That's not the point. He mechanics are not bad! Did you not read the post? He has a weird way to getting to his realse point but once he does he looks perfect. Which means he has good mechanics.

Trust me he does, i know alot about pitching ( i am one myself). You dont see Maddux or Clemens doing it, do you? He throws sidearm and he twists and turns. With Burnett its the same thing....the only one that may have good mechanics is Backett....when you turn your back to a hitter you lose alot of control but you gain velocity.

Another thing Benson is 28. I rather get Kip Wells who is 26 and is 2-3 with a 3.63 ERA and is making 370,000.

 

This to me would make more sense and I think the marlins can get him for Penny and a lower prosepect.

who will eventually be traded himself. he aint saying Benson is going to improve attendance. what he's saying is that the Marlins will look for a way to say that they got an estbalished major leaguer that will help us (even though they would be lying through their teeth), its called politics, baseball style. its true it doesnt make sense getting an expensive pitcher that has a few years left on his contract who isnt performing that well when we're dumping salaries (i know you dont want to believe its what we're doing but get used to it), so i dont know. i wouldnt be surpirsed if they found someway to make this trade happen to save face like Rune said and money.

The bottom line is Luis is a player that brings fans out to the park, not unproven minor league prospects, im not saying that they're duds, but they're not gonna get props from the fans until they prove themselves, same thing goes for Kris Benson.

i dont think fans go to the game to see Luis anymore than to see DLee imo

I think that marlins should go after Wells not Benson. Wells has more up-side and is cheaper.
