July 19, 200421 yr When you grow depends on when you started going through puberty. If you started late, you finish growing late. If you start early, you finish early. Simple as that.

I was 6 ft last year as a freshman in college. Spring of my sophomore year, I was 6'1. I didnt really start growing till I was a junior in high school. I started lifting weights (heavy...well it wasn't heavy b/c I was weak...but I started lifting hard) freshman year after football season. I was about 5'4. I continually lifted hard throughout high school, and proceeded to grow 8 inches. I lift even harder in college (it's more demanding obviously), and I've grown another inch. There are so many fallacies in the "stunt-your-growth" argument. Here's an amazing idea. Don't listen to people on a message board. Ask your doctor. 3rd: pushups and situps and stuff only do so much. You aren't working stabilizer muscles, you aren't working muscle movement (motor development). And Laz, you're a skinny dude. I saw your pic. There isn't a thing wrong with that. I too am a skinny mofo. It isnt hard for skinny people to get ripped. Try to get bigger...try to gain some muscle bulk. I'm not sayin hulk up, but add some muscle bulk...do low reps/high # of sets. Do your core lifts. At worst, you don't add A LOT of muscle...but you'll get ripped. And running is a very good idea. If long distance aint your thing...sprints and shuttles are a good way to build MUSCLE and not necessarily as much endurance.
July 19, 200421 yr I hope you're not working too much that you can't keep it up when you go back to school or that you're not pushing yourself day after day. Countless days of tough workouts are not going to help you.
July 19, 200421 yr don't listen to rune....countless days of diesel workouts DO help you. The harder you work, the better the returns....now granted, you don't wanna work yourself to injury, or overwork your muscles...but lifting 4 or 5 times a week (depending on you're workout program) is good. For instance, today I: -ran 18 110 yd. sprints -bench press (4X3 @72% max, 4X3 @78%, 1 @ 82%, 1 @90%) -military press (I actually decided to do push press instead) 3X8 -2 sets of 12 side lateral -2 sets of 12 bent side lateral -6 sets of 8 dumbell tricep extension -2 sets of dips -4 sets of 10 tricep pulldowns -6 sets of 8 dumbell hammer curls -3 sets of 12 curls w/curl bar -various ab workouts
