July 29, 200422 yr as of right now, he isn't even close. he barely has half the credentials to make it in were he to retire today. even if he plays another 4 years, i doubt he'll make it in.
July 29, 200422 yr its borderline. by the end of his career Kent's offensive numbers should stack up to those of the 2nd basemen in the Hall. But I think its definitely questionable and Jeff Kent while a great offensive second baseman..sucks defensively. If Ryne Sandberg gets in then perhaps...but is Kent even the best 2nd basemen of his era? or is roberto alomar better?
July 29, 200422 yr Jeff Kent? No way. His offensive numbers don't make the cut, and he's no champ with the glove. Kent didn't really become a top 2B guy until he was 30, and you can't start a HOF career at 30. Alomar was better, and was considered a sure bet for the Hall, but then his career suddenly crapped out.
