Walker is only signed for 1 more year, and the Rockies would most likely be picking up a portion of that.

Getting a stadium is the whole ballgame. We still don't have a stadium deal in place firmly. Its pretty clear from the signals that the front office has been sending (that hermida was the only untouchable in our system) and now with this trade(s) that we're going to go for broke this year in the hopes of getting a stadium deal. Then we'll scrap up the pieces from there. But without a stadium deal, its game over.

Besides, I dont think they're dumb enough to trade for enc only, are they? So that means we'd have to give up more prospects, and I dont think we wanna do that. July 30, 200422 yr Choi, Penny, Stokes, Murphy and another prospect for Walker, LoDuca and Mota still sucks. Choi could have been a star here for cheap. LoDuca gives us little chance to win now. Who knows how long Walker stays healthy.
July 30, 200422 yr the rumor is Encarnacion + prospects to CO for Walker. didn't someone say Gammons said that Walker vetoed a trade to Florida though? if we did get Walker our line up 1-6 would all be .300 hitters, nice. i don't know though, seems too good to be true.
