August 19, 200422 yr Non-MLB related... Irvin Smith, a CFL all-star, spent his offseasons as a substitute teacher at my high school. For a large chunk of 9th grade he was my English teacher and 10th grade my science teacher.

August 19, 200422 yr My family is friends with Wayne Rosenthal and his family.... his mom worked with my mom's mom for many years in Brooklyn... she even went to his barmitzvah, while his girlfriend worked with my mom at my mom's tennis pro shop years back. This summer I was a camp counselor, the assistant director of my camp, her husband is Kevin Williams, former WR on the Dallas Cowboys (2 Superbowls). Mike Caruso (played SS for White Sox a few years ago) graduated from my high school. When I fully recover from my broken collarbone, I am going to take hitting lessons from Ozzie Canseco, Jose's brother, who teaches at the Batters Box down the street.

I've signed autographs :plain After Furman games last year, kids would come ask me for my autograph as I left the fieldhouse...I felt bad for the kids that I was wasting space on their football/shirt/poster/etc....but oh well. I felt like the man at the same time.

He asked for a autographed ball and he said no like the a hole he is and his wife then called him in to the kitchen and 5 min later he came out with a box of autographed balls for the people that were installing the tiles. August 20, 200422 yr another good story i have is from game 6 of the 97 world series. i was walking up from my section after we lost and this guy patted me on the back and said "well get em tomorrow kid" (i was 11 at the time). the guy was former dolphins o-lineman dwight stephenson (hall of famer)
August 20, 200422 yr My good friend's dad is a sports accoutant... He gets to meet the players, talk to them, and even practice sometimes. Players include Manny Ramirez, Omar Vizquel, Luis Castillo, Miguel Cabrera, Enrique Wilson, Julio Franco, Angel Berroa, Rafael Furcal, Jose Guillen.
