More evidence ESPN doesn't like the fish

Featured Replies

i saw new evidence that ESPN hates the marlins, Game 6 of the NLCS made the top 100 moments. but not ONE time during the narration by berman did he mention the marlins and how they came back from down 3 games to 1 and beat wood and prior AT chicago. it was all bartman alou and losing the series, not one mention that the fish even played in the series. the detail that will be lost in baseball history forever is how they came back from down 3 games to 1 and beat their two best pitchers on the road. everyone will always remember bartman and that's it.

Disgusting.

It's not that they hate the Marlins dude, lighten up. It's just the Cubbies' curse taking over the media

Yeah, but the only way you know the Marlins are involved in that play at all is if you recognize the uniforms, and we aren't exactly the only team that has black tops.

Could have at least made a mention of the team, or the damn batter, or something. A "The Marlins won the series and wound up the World Champions" might have made the curse seem more dramatic.

Punks.

DOOD! The 100 greatest moments thingy was not about the series is was about the play. The Buckner play made the 100 greatest moments but I do not hear any Mets fans whining. And really who cares! The fish won the series and the WS so what does it matter!!!!!!

they could have atleast said who the visiting team was or who hit the play.

ESPN never liked us and there is no reason for that to change. We don't have a huge national fan base, we are a team with a solid contract with Fox Sports Net Florida, and the local media does the team no favors.

Now that is true. This whole Bartman thing is way blown over proportion, while that is understandable, but we deserve a little respect I guess. ESPN HATES US!!! :lol

espn hate's on the fish and supports miami idiots like dan lebaterd thats been on P.T.I all last week and this week too

The Cubs curse is a more compelling story. Just look at them this year, too.

Unfortunately, the media is always obsessed with things breaking down as opposed to things being created. Just watch the news. The Marlins are a great story - and it looks like they arent done. This year could be chapter 2...

ESPN used to be even worse towards the Heat before the Shaq deal, sometimes they wouldn't even show Heat highlights AT ALL and just say "In other NBA news, the Heat beat _____ 88-82" then moved onto the next highlight, it's pathetic.

ESPN is the ultimate bandwagon channel, they pretended like the Heat never existed and now that we've got Shaq it's all Heat, all the time :thumbdown

Well, folks, my hometown newspaper seems to practically omit the Marlins no matter what they do. It's BRAVES this and BRAVES that. :( And this is FLORIDA for heaven's sakes!! But we are in the Panhandle and there's evidently a bunch of Braves fans here. Fooey on them. :thumbdown

This "ESPN hates the Marlins" crap is so lame already. It's a national news station. They can cover what they want.

Around the country no one cares about garbage teams. Don't expect ESPN to start doing some segments on Kansas City or Toronto.

They do segments about the Expos all the time.

The whole Bartman thing was a load of crap anyways, he didn't do anything that any other fan WOULDN'T have done and he didn't even do anythign that was against baseball rules that ball was in the stands and it was ALOU interferring with the FANS right to catch the ball, not the other way around. Cubs fans are just bitter a**holes who have nothing better to blame their baseball clubs's shittyness for over a century on so they find things like curses and Bartman. I for one hope they NEVER win a WS again.

I will be there - Sept 10. I will take pics for you guys...

And the Heat bandwagon is great. Because now, I get to see the Heat 33 times on national TV. Sure, the media is a bunch of whores - why do you guys continually act surprised?

Word

Like I said in another thread. The media hates inconsistency, and loves consistency, the Marlins have won two world series in their only 2 winning years. That is not uber consistent.

That makes sense since the Cubs and Red Sox choking is consistent.

by the way who was the one that hit the foul ball to Bartman. I forgot.

Luis...he ended up walking.

But those teams make the playoffs at a better clip than once every 5 years. If the Marlins had a few years of over 500 ball, not even making the playoffs perse, the media would be warmer to them.
