I'm with Rune here...So Pudge really jump started the franchise with his name power which is much stronger then Raffy's? Get real people. The fans of South Fla will ONLY come out to see a ballclub thats winning and winning lots of games. The proposed deal that changed to include TH and Vlad...are you kidding me? Nobody will want Vlad or his contract...not even to equal the salaries. And the argument already made that Texas has a crowded outfield anyway. Sometimes you people need to realize that other teams arn't stupid and don't trade players for our worst crap. :thumbup

Pudge is not a Miami favorite, but he still sold many season tix. Imagine Rafi!

Raffy is a good player and would help us in a Playoff run. He can also draw people out there because he signifies that the team means business.

Winning, winning, winning will bring the fans back. Trading Mike Lowell will just postpone that for another 5 years if we are even a team around that time. I get the feeling that if Loria & company hand out a bunch of 1yr deals during the offseason after they get rid of Lowell, Castillo, Lee, and Penny that they are just waiting for contraction and that hefty paycheck for losing the team. Not sure why I'm becoming so negative, but the trade deadline will tell all.

It seems to work out fine.

We are still a game under .500 but getting on a roll. I don't think you will see a huge attendance jump until we are at the cusp of winning the division or the wild card. It may pique people's interest that we are gearing for a wild card run which I don't think will happen, but people are not going to flip out and go spend their hard earned money on a product that is just starting to look good. It has to be maintained and built on. I hope I'm wrong.

Lee will be superior to Snow in 1-2 years because his range is too good and thats also why he might make a few more errors by the way...he can get to more balls and so has more chances to make errors.

Rafi is third in The Al in voting and fifth overall not actually A Huge Star now is he.

 

So Josh call me foolish for all I care but The Facts are their A Star will only bring you so much A Playoff team will do much more.

We may still be near the bottom in attendance but we are above where we were last season.

 

And Pudge is not and never will be a bigger name than Rafiel Palmeiro.

Danny, this is not a stunt. Rafi is a good player and can provide offense. He will be an improvement to us in a playoff run offensively and he isn't that bad defensively.

We have recently been playing against the chumps and slobs of the various divisions. The games leading up to the ASB will be telling for this team. Can we compete with the upper echelon teams? It will decide the fate of Lowell, Lee, Castillo, and Penny. I hope we can come out on top.
