August 21, 200422 yr I watched from the point where the game was tied at 71. I don't think Lithuania missed more than a couple shots. That one guy scored like 10 points in a minute. US played pretty hard while I was watching, they just couldn't keep these guys from getting open shots.
August 21, 200422 yr This game was supposed to be the "big test" and we were doing awesome and of course we find some way to f*** it up at the end. And at the end, when we were down 93-90 everyone passed up the shot! I was like wtf!! I mean passing is fine but that was just like hot potato. Odom had a good shot at it but passed it up to AI, he had a decent look but passed it up to Richard Jefferson!!! Richard f-ing Jefferson, I mean I know he was actually performing good but I'd feel much safer with AI or Odom. We all saw the result. I agreed with the broadcasters, we shouldn't even have taken a 3. Not with our s***ty shooters. *sigh* oh well....

But Admin Brown is more stubborn than Pop. Why he keeps playing the same trash is beyond me. Didnt Carmelo hit shots in the second quarter? Why was he riding the pine for all the second half again?

August 21, 200422 yr They looked good today and are going to be fine. This isn't embarassing: it's expected. And they played a good game today but just couldn't pull it out. Jefferson was heroic down the stretch, but he isn't a shooter. They'll beat Angola, rest a little, and make the 2nd round thing. If only Eddie Jones was on this team. He'd easily be their best shooter and would've been terrific for a role player on this team.
