its extremely hard to bank on someone hitting .331, but since he managed to hit well above .400 both in july and in august, i think he should be able to pull it off.

I think there's no doubt he will. He could be consider for MVP if he was on a little better team.

Right now he is on pace to get 263 hits which more than breaks the record. He doesn't need ot be perfect to break it, he just needs to remain consistent and he has done just that throughout his entire career and thus he will undoubtedly break the record of 257 hits in a season.
