September 4, 200422 yr Well, the the process of removing a tumor in the pituitary gland is not too serious. Usually they remove most of it through the nose. Then if it's pretty big, they'll go in and remove it though brain surgery. I've seen it done before on people with Acromegaly (what causes continuous growth, basically causes a person to become super tall). However, I do find it odd that he would develop a tumor in this part of the brain now, usually this would develop during the time when you are pretty young until you are in your 20's (it's rare to have it even then-1 in 40 million).
