September 6, 200421 yr What's/Who's available for a 6th starter? We're going to need one with all this makeup games coming up.
September 6, 200421 yr they can callup anyone on the 40 man so it will be one of the usual suspects...
September 6, 200421 yr I posted this question earlier in a previous thread but after the job Aaron Small did a few nights ago pitching his third complete game of the season don't be surprised if they bring him up for one more appearance.
September 6, 200421 yr wtf Tejada are you f***ing shiting me?!?!?!? 544214 Tejera :plain but your right he sucks
September 6, 200421 yr I don't think Jack, Rosie and the team would be opposed to starting any pitching on 3 days rest in a tight playoff race.
September 6, 200421 yr Mota should have a shot at it 544227 :banghead :banghead :banghead 544249 what fran said
September 6, 200421 yr I don't think Jack, Rosie and the team would be opposed to starting any pitching on 3 days rest in a tight playoff race. 544254 itll all depend on how were doin. if we start falling back a little bit, jack will do whatever it takes to turn it around also i think we should go ahead and use our 6th starter on thursday vs. the mets, because we need to use our 4 best pitchers against the cubs
September 6, 200421 yr also i think we should go ahead and use our 6th starter on thursday vs. the mets, because we need to use our 4 best pitchers against the cubs 544258 Uhh.. know something we don't? Or do you trust MacPhail and the scalpers will get an extra home date this weekend?

September 6, 200421 yr I don't think Jack, Rosie and the team would be opposed to starting any pitching on 3 days rest in a tight playoff race. 544254 It's easy to agree with your thought, and I do, Jack "The Unimerciful One" will win at any cost. But at the same time Beinfest or one of his minions has to be talking to the guys in the minors - scouts, coaches, managers - to see if there's a piece of meat with the maturity to come in and give the team six three-run innings. I'm not going to say it will happen but I'd be disappointed if they weren't at least looking and considering all their options. I'd be even more upset if they couldn't find anyone. Speaking of options, I'm incredulous at the published suggestion that Miguel Tejera could be in the mix for anything. I'd give Toby a run up there before MT. Or Small. They may not be the best choices based on ERA or W-L but they both know how to pitch in the major leagues, they may not have what it takes to be an everyday player but if Joe Strong could do it, one of them has to be able to do it without doing an Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh on you. Six innings, three runs. Anything more is gravy. Once. Maybe twice. That's all we need. If we can't find six major league innings in our minor league system this franchise is in serious trouble. And for the newbies, if you use Howard or anyone in the pen to start you weaken the pen for two or three days. When every late inning decision means gaining ground towards the playoffs it's an unacceptable trade-off. While I agree Jack would ask a guy to pitch on three days rest my guess is he'd rather have meat to throw out there. You know Jack, trial by fire.
