September 16, 200421 yr This election is tight. Im with rune. I think the republicans are getting overconfident. This thing tightens up and Kerry makes a heavy push soon. This will come down to the wire. Especially if one looks at the flucuations in the state polls. On another note, I dont have any foundation for the argument but I guess most political pundits dont either. But IMO, if Bush does eek out the win, and I dont think he will..its going to be to the left what Goldwater/LBJ was for the right. A shift and a mobilization. No Republican president has been hated by democrats thi s much since I cant remember how long. And Reagen and Nixon dont even come close.

I refuse to buy the "Bush is starting to pull away because he's smearing Kerry better than Kerry is smearing Bush" argument.

When people say its about "leadership", then its clear how things are operating. The most effective anti-Kerry leadership campaign has been the swiftboats, a smear campaign. Bush has effectivley avoided the economy and Iraq as major issues and he has done so by attacking Kerry as a flipflopper and weak. Two things accomplishes by ambigiouty ie smear.

This is just a bigger version of a reality show to most people. And really how much more can Kerry define himself to satisfy you or anyone else on the issues? Look in the past and see the arguments of incumbents versus the challenger. "HE HAS NO PLAN DONT VOTE FOR HIM!" If it sounds simplistic its because it is. Typical election tactic.

The Simpsons illustrated this one well.

The divide the region based on race has been effective for too long. Have you thought of getting into politics? People..all over the world...need to start udnerstanding who shares their values and not who is a different color.

Its always a possibility (Hell I'm good looking and a people person...what more do you need to succeed in politics? )Florida isn't the main problem though.
