September 16, 200422 yr I still haven't seen who you all think was going to be the great solution as to who to start in his place? Manzanillo's been a mess lately. Who knows whether Koch will throw 10 walks in a row. Perisho can't start. I would've preferred Justin Wayne, but I think he's banged up or something. Weathers has been a disaster. Small's never shown he can do anything. The only possibility is Howard, and it's not as if he's been lights out either. Nate has at least at times shown he can do the job. He gave up mostly softly hit balls & infield singles. I mean he sucked the big one today, & like Fran said he'll never be anything special, but we just don't have any good options unfortunately. Who was the guy who was going to magically give us 6 innings & 2 runs? Ideally I'd have pulled Bump after 3 anyway & brought in Howard for 2 or 3 innings, but that's easy for me to say in hindsight. Anyhow, we'd better win tomorrow...

September 16, 200422 yr Damn, people the season has 5+ months old and you haven't accepted that no one has a bullpen of Benitez, Rivera, Gagne, Hoffman, Wagner and Isringhausen, with Pedro available in reserve. Most teams have the same talent we had in the 'pen back in April or May. How you use that mediocre talent that shows up in the standings.
