It was one year ago today...

Featured Replies

One year ago today (about this time) I waited patiently with Miri and Broadwaybaby and her brother for the Marlins victory parade to begin! After waiting for hours, the Metrorail train decorated in Marlins teal came by and the parade began.

It sucked that we were one of the first people there and yet were getting pushed around by people who came much, much later, but it was worth it to see all of our favorite Marlins players up close (seeing that WS trophy up close with Loria was awesome).

Right afterwards, it was a mad dash to bayfront park to see the Marlins on stage, but we were so far in front that the park was packed by the time we got there. So overall, it was a great time and definately one I'll never forget.

Any other parade stories? :mischief2

I felt bad for you, Miri!! One of the first ones there and they kept pushing you around for position :thumbdown

I am just so tiny I get pushed around a lot. :lol But I held on.

Saturday night I was in the front at the Method Man concert and I kept getting pushed around too. :confused I held on as well.

:lol Poor Miri

But you are pretty tough, so I didn't have any doubts that you would flash your sign in front of Pudge

i had a great time last year running around trying to get to the hot spots first...yes there was alot of pushing around which sucked cause alot of the people there werent even marlin fans they were just there for the fun...

Yeah, same here. By the time I got there not 1 person fit in there. So I left. I couldn't see anything anyways =(

I went to the parade in Ft. Lauderdale... Miami was just alittle too far :)

I had lots of fun :thumbup

I didn't go to school btw... my mom didn't wake me up :lol

Hopefully it wasn't held on a Sunday. Everyone in Florida would have been watching the Dolphins game. Oh and it it was on a Monday, everyone would have been watching Monday Night football because it was comprised of 2 teams that hadn't played since 2001, making for a great "matchup."

Oh and if it was on a Thursday or Saturday the people of Florida might have been busy watching college football. Wait, whats the name of the Florida baseball team??? Ah F, it it's Friday. I g2g watch High School Football.

I skipped school that day to go. I had a blast! Bayfront was PACKED, but I pushed my way all the way up to the first row from the last. :)

hey! that rhymes. :p Didn't even intend that.

Well, Boston's is gonna be on 10am on Saturday. Perfect time, basically. If we would have done ours on a weekend we'd have had to wait a week.

I remember scheming a way to be able to fly down to miami in the morning, see the parade and then fly back in one day without spending too much money :lol

Are they going to televise Boston's by any chance?

I doubt it. We may see snippets of it like they did the Marlins parade last year on ESPN, but thats about it.

Well, I better call up my friends in Boston and see if they can hook me up with a video of it.
