January 2, 200521 yr whats yours? I say Creed is the most overated band EVER times 3 secondly Rolling Stones ... but at least they were good
January 3, 200521 yr I dont think you can call bands overrated if their music has been listened to and enjoyed for so many years....The Rolling Stones 40 Licks, CD One is the CD in my stereo at this very moment...and I know Im not the only person who still loves their music. I would totally disagree that they are overrated!!! Creed was friggin terrible though! :thumbdown
January 3, 200521 yr Author Hands down - The Beatles Decent lyrics. Very mediocre musicians. The myth has grown dramatically larger than the reality. 646384 its your opinion but gosh such a countless number of great songs

January 3, 200521 yr Hands down - The Beatles Decent lyrics.? Very mediocre musicians.? The myth has grown dramatically larger than the reality. 646384 I don't know, their post opium stuff is pretty good. 646459 Big fan of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds eh?? :plain Anyways, I agree with Tonyi here.....The Beatles had some good stuff, but they aren't the martyrs for music that they are made out to be.

Is that why you like it?? :plain
January 3, 200521 yr I guess Creed is overrated. I mean no one I know ever bothers to even mention Creed, so it's hard to consider them rated at all, but they do sell a bunch of records. I wonder, though, whether anyone still listens to their Creed records. As much as I like Nirvana, I agree that they're overrated. U2 has become quite overrated. And I like them too. But all their new stuff is getting a free pass. A lot of it isn't so great. However...IMO, the most overrated band of all time is...(drumroll): Led Zeppelin Why? The musicianship is amazing, but about 95% of their songs just weren't put together very well. Their catalogue is filled with a bunch of musical pyrotechnics and guitar wanking, with very few songs that could be described as well-written. I just don't understand the God-like status attributed to this band. It's possible, even likely, that their live shows blew their recordings away, but that was way before my time, and for the sake of posterity, the recordings are ultimately all that matter.
January 3, 200521 yr Get off Creeds nuts. Their worst songs are without a doubt their singles besides my own prison. If people actually listened to the complete discs and not going on such bad songs such as My Sacrifice and Higher, then they would actually have a good idea on what the band was about. Mike Tremonti is one of the most underrated guitarists of his generation. Anyways the most overrated is...... Guns 'N Roses.
January 3, 200521 yr Author aren't singles the pre-determined hits of an album, meaning their best songs. written or just simply a catchy tune ... I just cant believe that creed went diamond (10mil records)
January 3, 200521 yr Who knows about the pre-determined successes thing.....Stairway to Heaven was never released as a single.
January 3, 200521 yr But the true musician work is the non-hits, not what the public wants toi hear and what will sell albums to a wide range of people.
January 3, 200521 yr Author I think most musicians know and admit what the best songs of an album are just as creed knew that higher was the best song of the album just as led zep knew that stairway to heaven was the best song of the album I think there is a clear difference between what the most challenging or fun to play song is as a player and which is the best written "hit"
January 3, 200521 yr Author But the true musician work is the non-hits, not what the public wants toi hear and what will sell albums to a wide range of people. 646594 yeah like creed :plain
January 3, 200521 yr Robert Plant actually hated Stairway to Heaven even though he wrote it. It was Jimmy Paige that made him constantly rework the song and preform it. As for Creed, there is no point in arguing, you obviously dotn care for them, and that is perfectly fine with me. Thats why music is so great. Cheers.
January 3, 200521 yr Hands down - The Beatles Decent lyrics. Very mediocre musicians. The myth has grown dramatically larger than the reality. 646384 that's a good one. i really can't think of any musical groups ever with that sort of hype.
January 3, 200521 yr just as led zep knew that stairway to heaven was the best song of the album 646598 Stairway to Heaven was never released as a single! Queen and Pink Floyd. Yes, I went there. 646616 How is Pink Floyd overrated?
January 4, 200521 yr just as led zep knew that stairway to heaven was the best song of the album 646598 Stairway to Heaven was never released as a single! Queen and Pink Floyd. Yes, I went there. 646616 How is Pink Floyd overrated? 646667 They're just as overexposed as the Beatles, and I just don't see that caliber of appeal
