January 4, 200521 yr Author because it seemed like it was going to happen. the truth is nobody knows more or likes baseball more than eddie k. besides i've had the luck of meeting him personally and he's a great guy. 647743 Beinfest impressed him. Boog also had some doubts about Beinfest, but they have been shut by Admin's success. Kaplan is one that should be brought closer by the Marlins organization. I think he should get some extended post game perks and some interviews. His show could use it.
January 5, 200521 yr his show is the s***. that way i can call in and not way 2 hours to talk boxing with him. he's the only one that knows anything about boxing.
January 5, 200521 yr Hmm, I think this should allow QAM to retain the Dolphins? No Stern, may mean they would keep the Dolphins? If yes, then Mandish is staying put and QAM would remain the Football station that it is. Nothing to get exited of write home about this latest news. Only possible positive is to see Boog get a space. But Mandish from 4-7 would be a disaster.

Only possible positive is to see Boog get a space. But Mandish from 4-7 would be a disaster. 647849 Dolphins dispute is not about Stern, it is about money. Dolphins want $4.5 million, WQAM likely isn't offering over $2 million. 790 won the bidding. The Dolphins don't want to share the station with the Marlins or Panthers anymore and ran away to 790 which is new. 790 has agreed in principle not to sign any other team. It will be Dolphins Radio 790 instead of Dolphins Radio 560 by the looks of it. WQAM is open territory.
January 5, 200521 yr Cape, from what's been reported in the past, WH has indicated he wouldn't allow the Dolphins to be on the same station as Stern. While $$$ is no doubt the overriding issue dumping Stern would appear to be an accomodation to get QAM back into the race.
January 5, 200521 yr 4-7...Jorge Sedano would be a solid Marlins backer and a solid host. Dino Costa I would enjoy but he is no homer....he may have another job elsewhere these days as well.

Dino Costa I would enjoy but he is no homer....he may have another job elsewhere these days as well. 648100 Jorge works for WIOD/Heat Radio and Fox Sports Radio overnights. Dino Costa is starting a new talk station in Jacksonville.

While $$$ is no doubt the overriding issue dumping Stern would appear to be an accomodation to get QAM back into the race. 647900 Stern is being dumped because Beasley is being chased by a lawyer who wants to crack down on Stern and Rogers. Stern is also not getting many advertisers for WQAM, forcing them to load Hank's show with ads, and WQAM wants to dump the Sirius infomercial. The Dolphins want money, WQAM cannot pay it.
January 5, 200521 yr Author Neil Rogers is looking for a syndication deal. He just extended his contract with WQAM but it allows for syndication. Hey, someone call Neil and get him to add Boog to his poll! http://www.neilrogers.com Dade 305-567-0560 Mobile #560 or toll-free 877-785-NEIL (6345) To fax Neil, dial: Fax 305-650-0198
January 5, 200521 yr Author According to Neil, Boog can't do it because of baseball. He also said Boog's talk shows didn't do so good. Neil is going to have his producer e-mail Boog to get the story on the San Diego job. Neil thinks Boog is staying.
January 5, 200521 yr Author I never knew that the Big O was that bad at night? :o 648314 Did Neil say it again? lol Why do you think they are using Goldie more instead of the Big 0?
January 5, 200521 yr Author Deal between the Marlins and WQAM is still not finalized. Guess the Marlins are considering other options as well before taking the final dive.
January 5, 200521 yr Author Later this week or sometime next week is the time most likely for a deal to be announced along with a Spring Training schedule of 15 games. Hopefully they also get Boog re-signed.
January 6, 200521 yr Author I also wouldn't mind Zagacki. He is a good UM guy and will back baseball in South Florida. Only bad thing about him is he is a Phils fan.
January 6, 200521 yr because it seemed like it was going to happen. the truth is nobody knows more or likes baseball more than eddie k. besides i've had the luck of meeting him personally and he's a great guy. 647743 agreed orisha. & he doesn't kiss butt either.
January 6, 200521 yr Author Zagacki's awful. No personality whatsoever. 648601 I would prefer Boog and Goldie or just Goldie alone, but Zagacki and DeFo are other options. I doubt Big 0 is the choice. Eddie K. could be slid up, but why mess with his show?
January 6, 200521 yr I'm really surprised what short memories so of you have regarding the whole band of Marlins haters at QAM. When was the last time Zagaki said a good word about the Fish? Or anyone of them for that matter. Forget all these football junkie retreads and let's see the station actually go out and hire some baseball personalities (and I don't mean more of the Crow) who can talk baseball first, otherwise QAM is not the place for the Fish.
January 6, 200521 yr Author I agree with you in the idea Marlins2003, but where is WQAM going to get any baseball guys to hire? 790 has football retreads...all except Minervini. I don't think that you will ever find the perfect home in the current conditions, but it is improving compared to 2 years ago.
January 6, 200521 yr Author Jorge Sedano is a good baseball talk guy along with the other sports....but he is on the Heat coverage on WIOD and Fox Sports Radio overnights. WQAM could try...but it would be hard.
