Vote for the song you believe is the Best of All Time. The ten songs with the most votes will advance to the single elimination phase of voting. If there are any ties, a separate vote will be taken between the tied songs to determine which advance.

Feel free to post your vote in this thread, that's why responses are allowed. I'm trying to get links for anyone who hasn't heard a specific song can hear clips from it, but if some are missing I apologize in advance.

Read the BBC page and comments. A world class song.

I went with Freebird.

After listening to "Free Bird" and "Simple Kind of Man" a few times each.......i had to go with....

"Free Bird"

Lyrics to Gettysburg

Gettysburg is tracks 12-14. Again, as mentioned in the nomination thread, these three should be treated as one song divided into three tracks. They are divided into

12: The Devil To Pay

13: Hold At All Costs

14: High Water Mark

Gettysburg is a masterpiece of music.

Come on, One needs some love.

OK, I've had it...

The Skynyrd song is simply called "Simple Man" not "Simple Kind of Man"

Sorry, can't edit the poll options.

A ton of great songs but I'm gonna go with "November Rain" - Guns N' Roses

Only two votes for Stairway to Heaven, I'll have to say I'm surprised.

Time has 3 votes???

That's not even Floyd's best song.

But it's a 25 minute song on their third best CD (best for almost any other band though), you surely don't expect anyone to know it.

Plus Comfortably Numb has one of the top 3 guitar solos of all time along with Freebird and Stairway to Heaven.

This needs a bump since these supposidly close tonight.

Make sure to vote for Time.

Give One some love!

I voted Kashmir, even though Rock & Roll is my favorite Zep tune. I would've nominated it, along with The Who's Baba O'Reilly... but I missed the deadline. :cool

Damn this one is gonna need some nasty tiebreakers as well.

1812 Overture.
