Question: pitcher #5

Featured Replies

with every good free agent pitcher gone and the only known pitchers left are Lowe, Loaiza and Nomo.....i think the marlins should sign Nomo. out of those 3 i think Lowe will cost to much and Loaiza had only had 1 good year. i think Nomo has been good throghout his career and i think for our #5 i would take him. i know he had a bad year last year but that was just one year. i think we should try to sign as long as we can afford him.......how much do u guys think he would want. i would rather take my chances on Nomo than bump, wayne or kensing.

If they can get him to sign for incentives like they did with Armando, where he's playing for a bigger contract why not. Remember anyone the Marlins get will have to be cheap.

What about the negotiations with Valdez....I think he did alright for a 5th starter and if he were to stay the rotation would be in pretty good shape...Burnett, Beckett, Leiter, Willis, and Valdez? Sounds nice to me.

I don't know if Valdez is the guy or not but I'd really be surprised if Nomo is.

Nomo appeared right from the get go in 2004 to be out of gas and nothing during the season would suggest otherwise. In short, I believe him to be washed up.

Nomo is awful......God awful.

Nomo wasn't even topping out in the high 80's this year. I remember watching a Dodgers game and he was topping out at 85mph
