6 teams would suck!

I don't care if it means a better chance for my team to get in, With Four teams you feel satisfaction because of the lack of teams. Plus one card makes it a lot more intresting! With six it will be a very big meh.

that makes no sense Cape

What's wrong with my plan? It would have a 3 rounds of playoffs instead of the current 2.

NLWS and ALWS

NLDS and ALDS

NLCS and ALCS

World Series

currently...

NLDS and ALDS

NLCS and ALCS

World Series

NLWS = NL Wildcard Series

ALWS = AL Wildcard Series

No they wouldn't.

1 plays 6

2 plays 5

3 plays 4

in each league's wildcard playoffs

1 plays 4

2 plays 3

in NLDS and ALDS

NLCS and ALCS

Then World Series

The where would the fourth team come out of for the Division Series? That plan doesn't have enough teams. And the plan sucks, leave it at 4. You don't want half the the league making the playoffs, takes the prestige out of it.

No they wouldn't.

ok 3 plays 4 and neither of those teams get eliminated? I don't get it. There is no way you could do it like that.

you lose the series, you leave.

all stay the same.

i just noticed that fran. you could have just 2 wildcard teams, and have a wildcard weekend.

Wildcard Teams Play in NLWS and ALWS

Then you have...

NLDS and ALDS

NLCS and ALCS

World Series

I was wondering if Gonzalez can play a position other then 1b. If all he can play is 1B then I don't think he will be traded to the Mets. Next year the have Mo (if he can play), Piazza playing some games there, and Phillips who is having a great year.

or you could have a loser's bracket if you wish to keep a six team playoff format.

I'm sorry, I think the 6 team thing is a bad idea. Call me a traditionalist but 4 teams per league is perfect for baseball. 6 teams would give 2 teams per league a bye, which isn't right. Baseball and Byes don't mix. 8 teams would be too much for baseball, it would mean 16 teams would make the playoffs and that is ridiculous. The 4 team system we have now is good, I think it works great for the Majors. Its prestigous because not too many teams make it, and it provides drama because most teams are similarly talented. Look at the NBA and the NHL, yes you have the exciting 8 over 1 and 7 over 2 upsets sometimes. But most of the time you have a serious talent disparity with bad teams sneaking in. Leave the system how it is.

5 team playoff system could have

NL and AL East

NL and AL Central

NL and AL West

NL and AL Wildcard A

NL and AL Wildcard B

Here is how it will go...

-NL and AL Wildcards A & B play 3 game Weekend Wildcard Series. Winner moves on to NL and AL Divisional Series.

-NL and AL Division Series

1 plays 4

2 plays 3

-NL and AL League Series

-World Series

Come on, just leave our current system. Its fine. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Hi! So all these pitchers that are thrown around, Bump, Wayne, Neal and Snare, how are they. Are any of them projected to be an ace?

# 3 or # 4 at best...

Bump has been pretty impressive so far...2-0 in the couple of weeks he's been up! :thumbup

I would like to see more teams make the playoffs, it would be nice to see Atlanta knocked out of the NLDS by a team like the Astros or Dodgers, who play well, but can't ever make it to the playoffs.

Once upon a time Justin Wayne was supposed to be good. He is an average but Major league ready starting pitcher.

Blaine Neal can still be very, very good. He definately has the stuff. He had an ERA under 3.00 in his rookie year, but fell off for some unknown reason this year. He could eventually become a good closer, or a great set-up pitcher.

Snare has a high ceiling, but I don't think he's all that great. He could be ML ready by next season, but you never know.

Bump has pretty good stuff, and has been solid in his first few outings, considering the fact they were just that, his first outings. He will get better as he gains more experience. I personally feel he will be quite a good middle relief pitcher, or set-up man.

But look, the reason baseball's playoffs are appealing is because you have to work to get there. If you can just sneak in by finishing second in the Wild Card then it loses its meaning. 1 Wild Card is perfect.

I feel like we can get better for benitez and burnitz but lets see what these gms have up their sleeves.

1 wild card is enough for now, but if we expand again (which we will do...2002 was supposed to be an expansion year, but they stopped it), we must add another wild card. I think if MLb does it, they will do it right.
