Pro Player Stadium gets a new name....

Featured Replies

call it donkeyf*** stadium for all i care.. just get Delgado and ill be happy.

JRS was a good name and probably had more name recognition than Pro Player, at least in my mind for it's role in Ace Venture. It could just be me.

Naw, I'm with you all the way. The name had dignity, unlike the sellout Pro Player name, and the initials were/are cool. Dolphins Stadium is a very nice name, but for a football stadium. I don't want to be playing baseball games in Dolphins Stadium. When it's only football, it's perfectly acceptable and rather nice.

Dolphins Stadium...it isn't a ballpark. Ballparks don't have endzones!

SBC and the BOB have 'em at least once a year.

They aren't permanent. Dolphins Stadium's endzone tunnel is always in right field/home endzone. The JumboTrons are also on the endzones.

If Huizenga still owned the Marlins, you can be damned sure that PPS wouldn't be named Dolphin Stadium.

Huizienga said that maybe the area around PPS will be known as "Dolphin Town".

Sounds a bit familiar to the post I made in April about Hialeah being renamed Marlin City and the Racetrack becoming the center of the city.

Atleast we know he reads the site and copies ideas.

He can have Dolphins Town up there, we will have Marlinsville in Little Havana :p

Marlinopolis sounds better.

Maybe Marlin City or Marlinsberg.

Little Havana sounds better

(insert corporate name here) Park at Marlinopolis of Little Havana

the marlins playing at dolphins stadium is just so stupid, and i actually like the dolphins. ehh who cares, ill still call it the pro

CBS 4:

"Huiznega unlike other baseball owners we know....*quick shot of Loria* will fund this almost new stadium with his own money."

Very class Gary Nelson, you showed your true colors there. :plain

That quote made my night and it's so true, i don't care what it's called let's worry about the issues on the field instead of names. At least he didn't name it Wayne Huizanga Stadium.

With the millions he's made ripping off the Marlins.

The announcement of this deal is just too convenient to be true. A roofed stadium to compete with the Marlins ballpark? The stressing of private financing. Sounds like a publicity stunt by Huizenga more than anything.

This will never happen! According to the story Wayne is going to make renovations to a perfectly good football stadium that does not add one penny to Revenues. (some of the plan might but who really thinks a condo would do well there.) New scoreboards bring in 0. A roof brings in 0.

IMO, this was an effort to drum up interest in buying the team. This development concept publicizes the value add side of a transaction. It also is a shot at the Marlins, Wayne could have spent that $350 million on a great stadium right next to JRS and had his entertainment complex as he desires. He could have gotten significant rent from the marlins and the County which would have supported that expenditure.

And now taking the field, your Florida Marlins at Dolphin Stadium!

Aren't Dolphins and Marlins related...? Oh well... :whistle

The only thing the Dolphins and Marlins have in common is that they currently play in the same stadium.. They are not related at all (anymore, anyways...) and Huizenga can't wait to get rid of us.
